I'm a moderator at /r/KIC8462852/ regarding this star. This article has so many factual problems that I don't even know where to start. The star is ~1200 light years away based on the last parallax. Regarding your statement, it's not radio that we're concerned with. It's our oxygen in the atmosphere. Everytime we transit our sun the oxygen and biosigns of our planet make it clear life exists there, and we've been flashing it for 3 billion years... not 1888 . As for radio .. we don't even know if they use radio.. if it's a they in the first place.

It's not nothing like Tabby's Star.. it's similar in the regards that Tabby's Star maybe dimming at least over the past century.. which means eventually it may end like this star.. just vanished.

Your coverage of this star has been very factual, well written and timely. Though there are a few of us that want it to be something amazing like aliens, the vast majority of us want to know the truth, if that's a huge mass of comets or the Romulan Star Empire.

thanks. I just want to figure out what this is. It's screwing up the ROI.. it's screwing up usability checks.. It's screwing up a bunch of measurements... and that guy wanted to inform me that I look "baloney"... without giving any additional input to the conversation that would help solve it. I hate people like that.

yes... inconclusive. Some however are "similar" but not exact to what the ip was from Googlebot.

You are looking at it wrong. You need to zoom in and see it's filtered for Organic traffic only. I'd have to include how the traffic spiked 100% under "not provided" for the entire duration of the spike... and how the visitors "clicked" from one page to another when no link exists on those pages to the second page.

I compared it with several niche sites in the same industry.

Perhaps for some people... but as an SEO of 21+ years ... I know phantom traffic. What I've been seeing is phantom traffic. I can't nor will I speak for everyone on Webmasterworld. But 65% spikes in traffic with zero conversions and the "users" clicking from page to page where no link exists ... that's not just a fluke. It all came from Google, all came not provided.. and all came in clicking unlike anything I've seen in decades.

I've done work for Walmart, IBM, and mostly fortune 500 firms over the course of the years.. You maybe right about people that say "200 pageviews a day" but normally my clients have several zeros at the end of that figure.
