Sorry about leaving that last post up forever. It just sort of happened. I should have done a post explaining I might be gone for a while.

Re: Passing Thru the Eye of the Storm

Thanks. Its been hectic. For those of you looking for a bigger thrill FDAX (DAX - Moves faster and further than ES).

Futures aren't as scary as they're made out to be. Just watch your 'size'.

I prefer futures, then the various ETFs... and I only find myself in individual stocks on special occassions.

Re: Ominous Thought

I'm angry... but not enough other people are.

Perhaps when the cable finally gets cut...
Or the fridge won't keep the beer cold no more...

Until then, the sheeple will just sit, whine and wait.

An entire nation on its knees, perhaps mortally wounded, and there still is more complacency than rage. Imagine you could say, if it hits this level I'd like for you to automatically start scaling in within this range. I'd also like for you to manage my stops and profit targets in a dynamic fashion, where you can set 'complex' stops and profit orders based on volume, volatility or any other variables you choose. Imagine you could do all these on an intuitive, drag and drop beautiful IU? Imagine as well you could intervene manually and 'take back control' of the trade in a completely seamless fashion?

Would that interest anybody? Cuz thats how this Ninja trades...

Re: http://slopeofhope.com/2008/10/some_favorite_aggies.htm

I'm long my favourite ags as well: AGU, MOS, MOT, POT.

I'm just looking for a nice bounce as the forced selling from the hedgies dries up.

Re: http://slopeofhope.com/2008/10/look_familiar.htm

We almost exclusively trade futures in our office here. I personally prefer futures over options for pure directional plays because of the liquidity, low costs, leverage and easy access. I'm never worried about sudden giant gaps because GLOBEX is almost always open (especially when it matters).

I don't have to worry about messy prices... For example, right now with volatility at nose bleed levels you can actually get caught in some terribly priced options. You get the direction right, but your timing is off by a bit or the rate of change isn't great enough to overcome a sudden collapse in vega.

Slinging around a 1 lot in ES for example should work even for small accounts.

Re: http://slopeofhope.com/2008/10/i_am_buying_now.htm

Buying as well. Indices and individual stocks. But no financials. I like the stuff where the hedgies were forced sellers. (AGU, MON, MOS, POT and AAPL, BIDU, GOOG, RIMM).

Hearing rumors of a co-ordinated GLOBAL rate cut. Either way they'll do something to inspire some kind of pop.

Make sure you don't overdose though... just incase we slide a bit more.

Re: Intra-Day Update: Rock & Roll

Heads up. I went into the weekend short equity futures. (Can't short those pesky stocks outright. Bastards.)

Nothing too heavy... but then again I'm going to be trading the open of the Asian session and will slap down any bids I see...

Out of 42 systematic banking crises across 37 countries, despite the implementation of a wide range of policies, all resulted in the re-allocation of wealth AWAY from taxpayers and towards debtors (banks). None avoided recessions and all recessions were SEVERE.

I got that info from an 80 page white paper on banking crises. Hat tip to Rebecca Wilder at News N Economics for bringing it to my attention.

Re: Crazy Days!!

The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent...

Hehe...
