This is an amazing album no matter what is said. She is extremely talented, but the album was better with Jon Brion at the helm, and if you want to treat yourself to something amazing find his version of it (the album that is).

Chris, I feel like, even though this post is funny, your blog has changed a lot over the past couple of months, from being well written shorts and thoughts with the occasional funny conversational quotation to being much more fragmented and more of a series of quips. I kinda miss the quality over quantity. I am not meaning this mean, just an observation.

Lykke Li, Hot Chip (should be number higher), of Montreal, She & Him(should NOT be that high on the list, especially NOT number one), and Sigur Rós (kinda).
These are the only bands on this list I can handle listening to at all.
Is this the fucking 80s? half of this unoriginal music is just rip offs of the sound that made the 80s and early 90s blow, and the other half is melancholy garbage with a whole lot of lackluster.

All i have to say on this matter is there truly is no place like it anywhere else. Some come close but nothing meets that mark. I was just thinking though, I am not sure it is the bar at all. It is that whole idea of seeing everyone you know there. And that is gone, regrettably. I could never see myself enjoying the downer the same way ever again.
