Fine. He can do that just as soon as Kentucky secedes from the U.S. and establishes itself as an independent nation. That's not likely to happen, though. Kentucky, like most "red" states, has been sucking off the federal teats for decades and couldn't survive without the welfare and other varieties of tax support that we blue staters provide.

Well, at least I don't have to have such nasty people in my life. My aunt developed the disease in the 1950s, about half a century before there was even any kind of medicine to relieve some of it's effects. She lived in the Bible Belt of Tennessee; everyone she knew, including herself, believed such rot. She lived in misery, praying constantly to discover the secret sin that she was convinced had caused her MS. She never did figure it out, and she died in great fear, believing that she was bound for hell and deservedly so.

I think the existence of alzheimers and similar diseases of the brain is also reason enough to doubt the existence of souls. If we are more than our brains and the chemical reactions therein — and I don't think we are —then why doesn't a person's soul take over when that person's brain is injured? Damn lazy soul, just lying around doing nothing until Judgement Day!

I have MS, and I can tell you precisely why god let me get it, according to a couple of fundigelicals I know (but no longer associate with). It's all due to "unconfessed sin" in my life. But it's all OK; I was also told, "If you get right with Jesus, you'll get wings in Heaven," so I guess my future flying ability will make up for me being unable to walk on earth.

You're probably correct. I wish we could know for sure how these parents reacted after their daughter's death, but we probably won't see a follow-up report.

I just went through all the comments on this video on YouTube, and I'm glad that the overwhelming majority see Hovind as the arrogant, stupid jerk he is. I did find it funny that only one of the 217 comments did not allow replies. It came from an obvious fundigelical:
