OK...

I support the uprising, if it is popular. However, some of the opposition fighters admit they are part of al Quid'a, and there is alot of tribal influences here that might come to the surface once the outcome of this fight is through.

It seems to me, reading this article that even though western media is telling thier audiences that this isnt about 'regime change', it seems that NATO has taken a side in the guise of 'protecting civilians'.

Lets understand too...that 'civilians' include those who are loyal to Khadafi as well as the opposition. I am beginning to wonder how clear headed this NATO mission has been, or is thier an objective that is not beeing told to the citizens of the nations that have a role to play in this action.

Seeing that western forces are not consistant in thier claim to 'protect civilians'...and even seeing that in some cases western governments have ignored or minimised, or even denounced (through catering to 'what if...) those in the streets as they have the military or oppressive police turned against them, I have a suspicion that there are alternative motives by the western powers, for the people of Libya at play here.

Yes they are, but it has nothing to do with Islam...as we can see, no outrage from people like him, who if he would call a woman he doesnt know well a (censored), what does he call his wife, or daughters, or mother? I suppose the more radical you are in any ideology, the more likely you are to be an abuser of women.

Of course, what he did to the mother who went to him asking him to prosecute a child molester is much worse. Making those children victims again.

I suppose had the mother hung the offender on a lamp post and cut off his genitalia after this man refused to seek justice for her, and help the offender escape justice to do what he did again to some other child, she would have gone to prison.

Of course...

An NGO with a religious affilation using the name of that religion (the article used the initials of the agency, but doesnt spell them out. CRS stands for Catholic Relief Services) is going to use the situation they are in to promote thier views.

However, again, the suffering has been going on in Daufur for years, and we know exactly who is causing most of the problems. In a place where it is much easier to distinquish between the oppressed, and the oppressor, unlike the not so well thought out action in Libya, the western powers have shown no interest in 'protecting civilians'.

Let us note as well that recently, a law in the US has been upheld by the judicial body that a religious affiliated agency, like Samaritan's Purse, or World Vision can discriminate in whom they hire or let volunteer on the basis of religion, and or ideology. We can only determine that these agencies, and other American based organizations want the law in place for the sole reason taking advantage of a bad situation to spread thier ideology.

We have seen it in Haiti, Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and other places where people are hurting and dependant on aid from NGO's

Understand that where I come from, Christianity was used by the colonial powers as an 'assimilation tool'...to try to make people like me more like Europeans. To them, we were 'uncultured savages' and Christianity would 'tame us', Please note too, that many people, under the guise of 'assimilation' were killed, and otherwise victimised by those using Christianity as an excuse for thier unmentioned motives...including what we know now as a wide spread reach of taking the innocence of children. The only difference is...people like me didnt have anyone to tell that could bring justice.

So...I understand from the Sudanese government point of view thier posistion clearly.

If the only intention of an NGO or any agency was to help the hurting, you would have a point.

Whoever founds an NGO, or any relief agency...who the helpers are, or where the dontations and funding comes from is irrelvent, if the purpose and intention of the agency was to ONLY help those who need it.

Perhaps, you dont recognize 'Moslem (your spelling) relief agencies' because they dont hang signs on the headquarters, or flaunt Islam all over the place. Simply friend, we dont have time to be in front of a mike and a camera patting ourselves on the back.

Actually working with the people in need is the hard part friend. Cant do too much helping while patting yourself on the back.

What is damaging to the US foriegn policy is...its inconsistancy. Of course, Americans have inconsistancy at home as well. It was OK for Bush to declare war on Iraq without congress, or a debate, but not Ok for Obama to do it.

Things that seem to be consistant here...

Those who obsessed with riticuling other people's lifestlyes, and standing on the dias and preaching thier family values, morals and ethics as the standard of excellence and civilization tend to have an identity crisis.

Perhaps they are projecting thier shame at thier own selves, and the things thier guilt and denying who they are.

Like some people who are addicted to things, who dont admit they have a problem so they can work on it, and get help if they need it, they simply turn thier addiction to another one that is more acceptible to the society they live in.

Belive it or not...not working out one's faults is a major pretext for radical ideology, and why they graviate towards it. It is like an alcoholic giving up the liquor, only to take on religion in it's place. He then has substituted one fanatic obsession for another...however, fanatic ideology kills others, where alcoholism kills the drinker.

Your problem is, you responed to the headscarf, and not to the woman wearing it. Notice how you immediatly went to blaming Islam...and in your self righteousness disquised as altruism tied to imply that the Christian group was there because the Muslims arent.

You ignore the history of 'assimilation' disquised as God's words, pretending to help those who need it. You live in a land where religious 'altruism' was part of a weapon used to destroy the culture and the people who lived there before you. Perhaps, people like those in Sudan's government are reading the history you want to forget.

Just think friend...I live in a land and culture where history doesnt start at 9/11 and end when some woman exposes her breast by accident during a performance.

Maybe you need to go to the library, and READ the broad history of religion used as a weapon to destroy cultures and people. Maybe you should look at the world around you and see people murdering civilians because they belive some book gives them an 'ancestrial right' to land they once slaughtered thousands...according to that same religious book to steal in the first place.

Maybe you need to turn off the damn TV and READ...before you accuse me of bias and bigotry.

There should a few more people under arrest as will, both Egyptian and international leaders who assisted, funded, supported, ignored and even sent victims to Egypt for inhumane treatment.

If you notice, I didn't claim one iota that only Christianity does this...did I? If you find that I excluded Islam, or any other ideology, please point it out to me.

Please note I only expressed the history of a specific place...my homeland. If you notice, as this thread progressed, I used the word religion, and not Christianity on purpose, because ALL religion, including those that dont have a diety have tried to assimilate others by force, intimidation, dependance, or deprivaty.

The Afgans see this everyday from western forces.

Remember that they see the equivilant of 9/11 on a weekly basis.

Let the west understand that most of the Afgans dont even know why the west is in thier land. Do you think that farmers and sheep hearders sit down and watch CNN, or even have time to do it?

Lets understand, that to them, suddenly, out of the clear blue sky, people in uniforms, with thier tanks and guns invade thier villages, kick in thier doors in the midnight, point guns at thier children, break thier posessions, and parade thier men with hands tied and hoods on thier heads off to a place where they may never be seen again.

Of course, people who resist the invasion and occupation are all taliben, or al Quid'a or terrorsts, or insurgents..even the children who carry wood home, or those who help thier father irrigate thier fields...and yes, even the pregnant women the west digs bullets out of thier dying bodies to hide thier evil deeds.

And some how...the west cant seem to figure out why those people hate them. If this was democracy, I wouldn't want it either.

This shows how short this man's rememberance of history is. He is ashamed of who he is, and where he is from. He has forgotten the legacy of his family, and Americans like him. For this man to walk through a door someone sacrificed thier life, reputation, safety ans security for, then want to close it and lock it behind him is shameful.

I can almost belive his mother isnt alive to see what he is doing.

Israel is always at war. It is thier staus quo, so the point about 'helping the enemy in a time of war' is moot. It is like making a law stating the sky will always be blue.

So, anyone who protests, or resists the occupation, or forced removal of people from thier homes is concidered the enemy, because Israel belives it is in thier 'national interest' to Jewify thier territory.

Please tell me is Israel a democracy as they claim? Putting ballots in a box doesnt mean that.

Am I going to personally apoloize or 'own' for that happened to him because I am Muslim...absolutly not.

This is what it is like to be an 'accuser' in the case of being raped, and a victim of a rape.

I hear that some of your conservative lawmakers in America would like to change the law to say that until the rapist is convicted of the crime, the woman is not a victim...but an accuser.

The legislator is probably trying to make a back door effort to deny abortions to rape victims by changing the wording of the law so that she cant be offered any treatment immediatly following her suffering to prevent pregnancy by the offender...and to wait out the legal gestation period limit.

However...especially women...need to understand that this is exactly what will happen to you, if you let laws like this pass.

Well, Jason...there is Malaysia, where I live, and our neighboring nation Indonesia. We are a modern society that is trying to build a diverse nation in which all people get along. Just like where ever it is you live, we have our problems as well, but we are not using fear to isolate, demean and dehumanize (as a matter of policy) other people, other religions, and other cultures.

You see Jason...Muslims do renounce violence...except they dont renounce selected violent acts or try to justify other acts that are the same, done by someone else. In Islam, there is no such jusitifcation for...say, collateral damage, or disproportionate retaliation or collective punishment. Your nation, as a matter of policy...legislative policy...have condoned, and condemned all of these acts, depending on who the offender and victims are. Those things in Islam cant be justifyed...they are evil, always evil, no matter who does them.

Jason...In Islam, we dont define crime and punishment based on the victim, or the offenders ethnic group, nation of origin, family name, or religion. To people of Islam, the crime is defined by the act, a victim is a victim, and an offender is an offender. Always, and without exception.

In other words Jason...Muslims speak against every act of violence, regardless of what excuse is used, or who the offender or the victim is. Of course, you want Muslims (collectivly) to own, and apologize for acts of terrorism in the name of Islam. I am not going to EVER do that.

Can you, without caveat, denouce any act of violence against any innocent person for any reason, and at any time?

I didnt see the page, but what does amaze me is the power of one man to write a letter to a world wide media outlet to get it to shutter a popular site...because he didnt agree with it's content.

I wonder...can I write a letter to Facebook telling them to take down all of the Zionist, and Zionist supporting webpages that call for, or justify violence against Arabs, and Palistinians who oppose, resist, and or speak out against the occupation and forced removal from thier homes?

If the website called for VIOLENCE against Israelis, it was the right thing to do, but on the other hand, it is also equally the right thing to do to search the Facebook pages, and take down all of the content that is anti Palistinian and Arab....all things being fair.

Of course, one man having that much power over a suppoedly world wide media outlet isnt fair...is it.

Oh...and by the way intidada actually means in Arabic...to shake off, to awaken from sudden sleep, or to become conscience of something that had been negleted, minimised, forgotten, or taken for granted. You might say that the worker protests in Wisconsin USA, or the uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and other places are a form of intifada. Of course...you might ask why the Palistinian intifada is violent...well, remember, the other side is using force to impose occupation and doesnt tolarate peaceful resistance.

How exactly can you prove the 'majority opinion' in a place you dont know, or havenever been? Jason...you might find this silly...but another 'taboo' in this nation is to show bare armpits. They dont allow that on TV either. Does that mean that bare armpits are oppressed? No Jason, it means it is not what people want to see.

In a land like you live, that wont show the horrors of war in real life, but can have actors portraying brutal rape and other mistreatment of women...you have no room to critisize what goes on over the airwaves here.

Of course, you attempt to indite all of Malaysia and our people by ancidote is pretty weak at best, since your own nation...though coming around slowly, has the same anti homosexual voices within it.

I can see it now. First, it is 'legitimising' the illegal blockade if the Palistinians agree. Of course, plans and cardboard models will never turn into picks and spades...it is simply another manipulative tool, created FOR the media so that when the Palistinians laugh at the idea and reject it, the Israelis can claim that the Palistinians dont want solutions to the conflict.

It is funny how, in this western based article, (Reuters) that the same person who 'leaked' this about the 'island', also said that if the Palistians pertition for statehood, that Israel will 'annex' the west bank illegal settlements, as they did illegally to East Jeruselem.

This kind of shows how easy it is to culture the news to get a certian opinion.

In the rest of the world, probably not reported on CNN, or other American based media, the Israelis are afraid of the Palistinians going directly to the UN, and partitioning for statehood, with, or without the approval of Israel. This appeal already has wide support. Of course, it will not mean instant statehood for Palistine, but it will change the conversation that Israel's supporters to a more defensive stance.

Well, I guess people understand now not to protest and vote against other people and other people's interests, oppurtunities, rights and security.

Perhaps now, Americans understand that sometimes...those other people you are against, are really you disquised in rebranded words and phrases made up in a propaganda factory.

In recent history, another well educated, modern, civilized society voted against another group of people. To this day, and forever, those votes, and what became the autrocities of those who came to power, will be a blot on humanity.

Hopefully, when Americans choose an elected person, they choose that person because it benefits the voter, rather than be against another citizen.

I hope the west has learned it's lesson from 'arming rebels'. It didnt go so well in Afganistan, or Iraq, as those rebels turned the west's weapons against the west in the form of radicals.

This whole no flying zone seems to have no logic whatsoever. How can the main mission be 'protecting civilians', when a civil war by very definiton is one group of civilians fighting against another?

NO, I am not a lover of Khadafi or what he is doing. However he would have been gone long ago, had not the west seen 'business oppurtunities' in Libya. I almost doubt that the west's intention, given the inconsistancy in thier actions, is just to protect civilians. I feel that the west would arm and support whatever side benefits them. It just so happens that Khadafi and his minions support the west less than the other side in this case.
