Hmmm, I take exception to Buffy being included on this list. Sure, there were weak episodes (what series doesn't have any?) but on the whole, this was a very consistent series that was true to its universe. And I love how your readers agree with me on this. Never mess with the Slayer! ;)

Maybe you should replace Buffy with Gossip Girl -- a show that went on for too long and had a lame ending! (I do love Blair and Chuck though)

I loved Lost and Battlestar Galactica, but yes, the last seasons and finales of both these shows sucked!

Hello, Laurel! My friend and I were staying at the hotel when you were there with your writers' group. We were very curious about the workshop, but of course did not want to intrude. Being writers/editors ourselves, we know all too well that writing is solitary work and takes a lot of hard work besides. But had we known that there was a fellow Manileña in the house, we would have said hi, at least. I like your post. Captured the inner conflicts of a writer, the external chaos of Manila and Penang. :)

@mrshobbes Not real trees. They're called Supertrees. Big steel structures that resemble trees. Inside the Gardens by the Bay there are walkways in between them where you can, er, walk and view the whole gardens. :)

Ooh! You really should watch it! I think Toto would love it -- not sure about you though, hahaha! It's not as suspenseful and fast-paced as 24, it's more... "novelistic" in its pacing and scope, and I like it because of that. Check out my post last Monday. I had a 100 most memorable quotes from The Wire there. Watch it and see if you find it interesting. ;)

Hey, Carrie! Yes, this was suspended when I went home. Haven't actually gotten back to the groove of dieting -- yet! -- but I'm on a self-improvement jag this past few weeks. I suppose with my birthday looming near I'm feeling my mortality, hahaha!

Aside from the diet and exercise, I've taken to making sense of my money (I'm keeping track of my finances even more closely. A huge change from my casual, "Hey, I only have $100 in my ATM. How'd that happen??") and I'm more praning about my health.

I'm growing up, Carrie!!! Waaah!
