Cut backs can be made, but everyone can not drive a Smart Car or ride a motorscooter. The outer suburbs (and even many Southern cities like Memphis) usually do NOT have a strong public transit system.

Just FYI, I drive an SUV but I take the subway as much as possible

This type of thing is only seen as somehow evil when black Americans practice it. Every other minority does this apologetically. I can remember being in this Korean-American Doctor's office and another Korean came in and asked him if he knew any Korean optometrists. They then began speaking in Korean. This is standard operation for them and I see nothing wrong with it.

I am not in the tank for either party. All I am saying is that it is good to have some people in both parties to give us a choice. Some Democrats also have ideology antithetical to what I believe as well. Some Republicans have a few good ideas.

I must say that there was a lot about the bill that I did not like. I may have opposed it myself - and I support Obama. Pelosi and the Dems were throwing too many things that are unrelated to ECONOMICS into the bill.

Not only was Cohen voted back in, but by a LANDSLIDE over a black candidate that made race an issue. The people of the 9th Tennessee District not only were disgusted with that candidate, but Cohen is a GOOD and honest elected official (better than Harold Ford, Jr ever was).

You are correct that it is more complex than that. No on here (at least not I) said that Arabs hate blacks. The question the Darfurians are asking is why the imbalance in outrage?

I will say as a side note, that some Arabs do believe in the superiority of Arabs as a race.
