At my company, KITE, we're working with a number of Fortune 100 companies and running into these exact issues. It's not an easy path, but there's a ton of appetite to affect meaningful change and growth, so it's great to see others implementing process that works like this.

Re: The 33 start-up directories you should be listed on

Great list, but you missed an important one: my company, KITE, which has built the first innovation partnership platform. We're helping brands, agencies and enterprises to find, evaluate and partner with emerging technology companies at scale. We helped facilitate over $5MM of revenue for startups last year and don't take a penny from those deals. It's 100% free for emerging tech companies and it always will be. Startups just need to go to getkite.co/startups to claim their profiles.

You claim your CrunchBase profile to participate in “the business graph,” while your AngelList profile speeds up your funding and hiring efforts. You claim your KITE profile to connect with your next strategic partners and revenues.

Re: Kite

This content is amazing!

Re:

I decided to focus the discussion on entertainment/content tastemaking being pushed forward by startups. What do you think?

Re: Google NYC Hidden Bookcase Doors

Glad you enjoyed my photo. :) It really was very cool. I have to say that this doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does you. I think that this is the only way that a lot of people will ever start to understand the features that Facebook is rolling out -- they have to demonstrate them in real, emotional, personal, visceral ways for them. Most people are not going to go tinker around with Timeline, because there's no incentive. By putting its features into a personal context like this, it shows people the potential of the platform if they do go curate it for themselves.

I can not understand, however, why it is not constructed so that we can go and edit the posts that the robot curated for us there. To your point, that limits it to the small subset of posts where one of us tagged the other, which is never going to be representative of how that couple would want to represent themselves. If Facebook presents it as a foundation to expand from, then it might actually be kind of useful as a head-start.

Re:
