NOTHING.
The only reason Tip the Dealer is there is so EA can make money. By using the Tip the Dealer, you lose chips...the more times you tip, the more you lose. EA counts on you using this so you'll run out of chips faster, and be forced to buy more chips from EA...so...EA makes money. That's the only reason EA added that "feature".
It's actually not a bad game, but it IS a game with a great many "bad players". I'll count you among them if you're ranting about it being rigged.
Stop whining and learn to play poker.

Re: World Series of Poker (WSOP) for iOS Review

Rigged! Having a Hat on their avatar immediately identified them as "cheaters" in the game, and they instantly became targets of all the non-cheating players. Such was the outcry to Playmesh from these "point-cheaters" that they forced Playmesh to add some code to their game so the "hatters" would be able to remove the hat from their avatar, thus eliminating the ability for others to identify them as cheaters.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

More sadness in the Playmesh world.

Now they've released a new game called iRacing. It is an exact copy of the iMafia game, with a few icons and images changed to give it a "racing" spin. Like the iMafia app, they'll also sell you playmesh points so you can cheat your way to the top.

Make no mistake. Playmesh are not interested in making fun, compelling, interesting games. Playmesh are interested in getting you to part with your money.

As a bit of proof that Playmesh simply cloned their own iMafia game, here's a snippet of their code..a simple translation table showing the terms used in iRacing and the original terms used in iMafia.

"Translations": {
"Armors":"Gear",
"Attack":"Speed",
"Attack and Defense":"Speed and Handling",
"Bounty":"Bounty",
"Bounty Kills":"Bounty Take Outs",
"Brawler":"Daredevil",
"Cash":"Cash",
"Cash Flow":"Cash Flow",
"Cost":"Cost",
"Critical and Evasion":"Luck and Track Advantage",
"Death Count":"Crash Count",
"Defense":"Handling",
"Doctor":"Mechanic",
"Energy":"Energy",
"Establishments":"Establishments",
"Fight":"Race",
"Fights Lost":"Races Lost",
"Fights Won":"Races Won",
"Godfather":"Sponsor",
"Health":"Health",
"Hitlist":"Hitlist",
"Income":"Income",
"Items":"Items",
"Kill Count":"Take Out Count",
"Mafia":"Crew",
"Mafia Members":"Crew Members",
"Mafia Size":"Crew Size",
"Mogul":"Flash",
"Owned":"Owned",
"Properties":"Properties",
"Punch":"Key",
"Quests":"Quests",
"Skill Points":"Skill Points",
"Stamina":"Stamina",
"Undeveloped":"Undeveloped",
"Upkeep":"Upkeep",
"Vehicles":"Upgrades",
"Weapons":"Cars",
"Workaholic":"Ironman"

Playmesh have also taken the blatent approach to taking your money...they now have two downloadable "playmesh points" apps on the appStore. One for $49.99 and another for $99.99 What does this get you? NOTHING tangible. Just a few points that you can to to cheat in the games. The wildest part of this...people are actually buying this crap! Un-freakin-believable.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

No, you only buy mob members. Friends are just that. Friends. Gives you easy access so you can see how quickly they are leveling, the equipment they have, etc. Unlike iMob, you have to pay for your mob members in iMafia. You can easily cheat at this buy buying Playmesh points from the appStore. I don't see the point in this unless you want to finish the game quicker.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

To each his own. When the Art Heist was first available you required 10 helicopters with an upkeep of $5,000,000 each...that's right..$5M each. You also needed 25 Night Vision with an upkeep of $50,000 each. If you do the math on these numbers you'll come up with $51,250,000 per hour upkeep. All of these numbers can be confirmed just by reviewing the Playmesh chat group history.

I understand my math very, very well. It's you who should be doing a little more research before you go shooting your mouth off.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

It's not free if you have paid for the honor points.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

Here is yet another example of the inept programming and game design by Playmesh. On March 8, they FINALLY released some new missions, weapons, etc. One of the new missions was Art Heist. As a comparison, I have shown the details for the Air Smuggling mission and the Art Heist mission:

Smuggling by Air = $32.5 million avg payout per 225 minutes. $100,000 upkeep per 60 minutes
This works out to an average $142,777.78 / minute GAIN

Art Heist = $52.5million avg payout per 250 minutes. $51,250,000 upkeep per 60 minutes.
This works out to an average $644,166.67 / minute LOSS

2 Questions: Who in their right mind would play this mission, where there is a net LOSS.
And, more importantly, which idiot at Playmesh decided on all these new values...somebody who doesn't understand grade 5 math obviously. Nice work Playmesh.

Re: Playmesh launches free social iMafia game for iPhone with a twist on virtual goods model

English please?

Re: Announcing Charles Ju, CEO of Playmesh, as a Speaker at the iGames Summit

LOL... maybe he read this! For the first two weeks on the Playmesh chat area there were dozens of comments made letting Charles know that he should have charge a buck or two for the game. These type of games could have a few playable levels for free, and if you want to continue the game, you pay. These games are very addictive and this model would work really well. Unfortunately Charles wasn't interested in hearing any of our input, and just kept stating that "the game would get much better once the honor point system was in place".

You state that 'When he adds being able to get free honor points by working for The Godfather, things will improve.' Charles promised free Godfather points from day one. I'm not holding my breath! And besides, these points are really an unimportant part of the game as it stands today. You don't need these points to complete the game and, in fact, using the points only shortens the gameplay.

Charles had the idea that he would identify the "supporters" of the game (the people who bought the honor points) by giving them the in-game hats (of various colors dependent on which of the "points games" they bought). This idea totally backfired on him, and was the major reason behind the v1.3 release. The "hat people" realized that they were now identifiable in the game as "cheaters" because they hadn't earned their position in the game by pure gameplay, but rather "bought their way" to their positions. They complained to Playmesh and Playmesh responded by allowing them (in v1.3) to remove the hat from their character.

FWIW I would still pay for this game, provided that I had assurance from playmesh that they would continue to add new game features (not candy-coatings that have no value). As it stands, I reached the end of the game in less than a month without the need for using any honor points, including the freebies you get at the beginning of the game. There are loads of others in the same position as me.

Re: Announcing Charles Ju, CEO of Playmesh, as a Speaker at the iGames Summit

Playmesh have failed miserably with their iMafia game. Slow servers, bug-ridden updates, and a greed-inspired cash-grab to SELL previously FREE games on the appStore in order to give iMafia players some in-game points that can be used in the game to gain advantage over players who have not purchased the points. It's akin to playing Monopoly, and letting players buy Monopoly money with real money....whoever has the fattest wallet wins. This totally skews the gameplay in iMafia. In addition, Playmesh haven't released any new in-game functional aspects since the game was first released. They've candy-coated it a little by making some things pretty, but they've not bothered to add any new missions, weapons, vehicles, properties or establishments to the game since day 1. I'd love to be at the summit to hear how Charles Ju would answer the critics of his game, and his tactics.
