Thanks for hitting on a lot of what needs to be fixed.

One of the most dangerous intersections, in my opinion, is at Sawtelle and Exposition.

Going East cyclists are forced to curve out into traffic because of the direction the ramp faces at this corner.

Once you ride through the ramp one must then deal with the freeway column which creates a blind turn.

The maneuver required to make it across these obstacles creates a right curve onto traffic, then a left turn up the ramp and finally an immediate right to continue heading east on the sidewalk. This is a bit difficult to orchestrate in the very tight space.

I realize that column is a structural necessity (supporting the freeway). The corner could still be improved with a simple extension of the ramp (so it's accessible just north of the corner too). This would create a straight path for cyclists which would fix most visibility issues as well as create better movement for cyclists and pedestrians crossing.

Re: occupy my backyard - everything is coming along SO WELL!! the thing i...

That story is definitely sad. All that talk about trends reminded me of a chapter about mainstream music in Chuck Klosterman's Sex, Drugs & Cocoa Puffs (maybe something regarding the accessibility of music). Man, I feel like such a "21st century digital girl" watching this video and then shamelessly blogging about it.... hahaha :)

I think its great that because of the internet (and specially through things like twitter and blogs) a wide variety of people now have a very accessible platform on which to express themselves and be vocal... i mean, in a lot of ways... more of us need to be speaking our minds- out loud! But one has to wonder what exactly it is we are saying.

Having these tools and access and power does come at the price of a whole lot of virtual/intellectual/physical clutter. I mean, lets face it... "the masses are asses" and there's a lot of fucking shit floating around the internet. But that's just it. Like the nice man in the video said... crowds like shit! Its absolutely fascinating to me how the capitalist system has such a capacity that it can simultaneously cater to broad tastes as well as to the most individual and custom needs or desires. Whether it be the Jonas Brothers, or a little band I like called Black Cobra... there is fucking something for everyone.

I wish I could cut through the trendy shit. If so, then I might have the opportunity to actually find some decent hip-hop i could give a try. Or even some indie shit too... i mean, i like a lot of different sounds and styles... but trends bug me. So I always end up distancing myself with metal (although its funny because even that too can be absolutely trendy in itself).

Shit man! I just went on a rampage. I love thinking about this shit. I once wrote a paper on "Metal: Resistance and Conformity in a consumerist Popular Culture". Pretty much it was just great to be able to talk about Norwegian Black Metal!!! ... and then connect that somehow to the state of social affairs we live in today ... and actually get away with sounding somewhat legit.

point being... college is bullshit.

amen.

Re: Synaptic Burble Baubles & Infinite Ammo

if only.

Re: Definatalie - Defiantly

awesome!

Re: Definatalie - Defiantly

thats soo true!

Re: Synaptic Burble Baubles & Infinite Ammo

holy shit. that is scary.

Re: Word of Command

this movie is amazing!

Re: we sing with our heroes 33 1/3 rounds per minute - Roky Erickson - I walked with a Zombie

this is one of my favorite artists of all time!! i have seen him twice in concert! including last year on halloween night! magical! :)

Re: Aziz is Bored

nice.

Re: eatsleepdraw | A Place For Drawings | pen drawing/digital colours

awesome!

Re: Lunch Bag Art - Katamari Damacy, the Prince

i love this video game. its pretty much the only one i play! :)

Re: Lunch Bag Art - Title suggestions are welcome.

amazing!

Re: Lunch Bag Art - Hey!
