If they were smart, Disney would buy up the rights from Marvin Gaye. That way the Gaye family gets their financial justice, Thicke gets screwed over because there's no way Disney would lose (they invented copyright law!), and all of us suffer from the further squashing of cultural creativity based on another's work.

I'd also add in the Everett Silvertips (WHL) to the Current Situation. They play about the same distance from downtown as the Thunderbirds. 2 WHL teams in the metro area... I don't understand how Seattle doesn't get a team. Just wish it had been the Coyotes instead of an expansion team.

The Vancouver issue is non-existent. Sure, it's 2.5ish hours away, but it's also in another country, meaning passports, waiting in line, exchange rates, etc. Seattleites hit up a game or two from time to time, and they follow the Canucks passively, they don't "own" the Canucks. Put a team in Seattle, and you'll see a rabid fan-base build quickly and their ties to Vancouver will be shed overnight.

If anything, there will be folks from Vancouver heading to Seattle to catch every Canucks game. Especially if the team is bad for a few years due to expansion.

Check out Justin King sometime on YouTube too. He's a slap player that does a lot of tap melody work. It's not necessarily my favorite stuff in the world, but it's very good. I'd link to something, but the quality is so poor...old videos from 2 years ago

If we're to believe that the guitarists are of Jack White's choosing, then The Edge deserves a spot. His pedal board alone shows his influence on White. However, if this is not the case, then yeah...the guy plays like 8 notes. WTF?

I think you read that wrong. "Regulate" was used, rightly or wrongly, to point out that social conservatives (McCain, Palin) try to regulate citizens' personal lives (e.g. teaching abstinence, promoting the nuclear family, support for gov't "values education," etc). Generally promoting the Government's role in "traditional values." The argument here is that these politicians are running as social conservatives due to their irresponsible family members. While it may not be true, it's just a thought.
