You know I am nitpicky as hell.. so there are little things that turn me off from this.
BUT I REALLY like certain things about it:
- I like the blandness of color. A lot.
- I'm totally in LOVE with the wrap. The texture, the sheerness, the metallic.

The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. That's a good thing! :)

Well I don't think of rules when I'm shooting either (theres a whole separate article on that), but I think it is essential for the growth of a photographer to be aware of these things (I never did rule of thirds because I personally thought it looked like shit, so I really liked this article cuz apparently I generally follow this rule a lot and never knew). I think it's good to train your eye as a photographer to pick up things in a way that it is generally thought of as eyecatching and aesthetically pleasing to the general public (which is where these rules came from).

I like the colors a lot! It's a very soothing morning (not how I usually feel when I get up, but what I would LIKE to feel! haha).

And Jin, I like the dark background.. I like viewing photos on dark backgrounds..

The framing is a liiiitttle off from my liking but I really do like the coloring and the lighting (it matches the text very well). I also am very interested in the reflections on the glass.

the shot is a little too tight for me and the off-color balance retracts from the final product for me.

nice!

i dont mind the crop of the reflection (if the whole thing was in it would be to repetitive and symmetrical for me). what is that brightness thats on the right of the image? i dont know if its the light, but i would rather see it not in the image (you couldve edited it out).

but good use of lighting as i know you love your natural. haha

Thanks. It's not cropped. I just dont like putting whole doors in.. too symmetrical (you know how I am with asymmetry). hahaha

as for the makeup, it's betsy johnson!! she's all about excessive and over the top.

I'm not in love with the reflection of the light. I don't feel like it benefits the image. I think I would've liked it a lot more if it was straight on of the toaster with the cheese sandwich (and i think it'd fit the assignment more, but i think i worded it badly on my part). the noise also bothers me a bit.

nice composition and i agree, the coloring makes it work with the concept very well. It's very dream-like (more so than nostalgic to me).

regarding the assignment topic, did you use a fluorescent lamp to light this or did you just take it in a fluorescent-lit room?
