Only after they have done that is it a good idea to promote someone else.

Ann writes in the Renegade Network Marketer Ebook that people should use her system until they get the swing of marketing and then build their own. I think that is a fair comment but having said that, the search engines are making it very hard for people to promote replicated systems so I think people may as well just get on with building their own systems and funnels.

Re: You: The Best Guru EVER

Even for serious stuff you make me laugh Frank.

Re: This Week in Startups #76 with Steve Huffman

Great show, very interesting. I popped over to your blog and checked it out...nice site; clean & simple. I get the impression you are a low key, down-to-earth kind of guy that is not into hype? Johnathon Budd is probably the polar opposite, I wonder if they is why he "rubs you the wrong way".

I see you are marketing MLM Lead System Pro, how long have you been using that system and how do you find it? Although I have your physical book I just couldn't help getting the Vook too!

So I come home after a great days work, cook a big juicy aussie steak and sit down with a bottle of 2007 Pinot Noir NS01 VIN DE PAYS D'OC (pretty good for 10 bones) and your Vook...what a way to finish the day.

I watched every video from start to finish. The quality is stunning and the way you weave your story into it is absolutely brilliant. I really loved the Video for CH 9 - The Best Marketing Strategy Ever and CH 13 - Legacy Is Greater Than Currency.

If people can produce Vooks using your standard as a benchmark than I reckon it will be a hit for sure.

I'll by more Vooks and today was the first I'd heard of them.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - A video from my book tour

As kids, we used save our coke bottles so we could peg them at signs driving down the highway at a 100km (they were either glass or cans back then), that was our fun. There used to be litter beside all the signs so I guess it wasn't just us. I'd be gob-smacked if I saw that today.

I'm sure we'll continually be blown away by how things change and become the 'accepted norm'.

Great vid

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - This even takes my Hustle to another level

Hey Jason did you manage to read Gary's book?

Chapter 5:
"To monetize your personal brand into a business using social marketing networks, two pillars need to be in place: product and content.

We talked about how to choose your product, which should be whatever you are most passionate about. Whatever it is, it should go without saying that quality counts in a major way. You can hustle and market and network all you want, but if your sports drink tastes like trash, or if you're putting out bad information, you're going to lose"

That's like saying Gary gets from one city fast because he takes a plane when he should take a car like everyone else. It would be silly for him to talk about the planes that cart him around because no-one cares about that.

The publicist is just a vehicle for Gary to get his stuff out there, if it was crap it wouldn't matter who was promoting or publishing it. In addition to that if you haven't got the chops would all these people ask Gary on t.v. and to do keynotes and so on? It's because he worked his butt off and attracted the attention of these people.

In the old days maybe money was the key factor in getting your message to market but I think you might be missing the whole point of Crush It and Gary...in this age where info is shared so quickly, money without quality on the backend is pretty useless.

Anyway just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - This even takes my Hustle to another level

Jeez Gary, why you being such a lazy bones, surely you can do more than just 6 book signings and Q&A sessions in 24 hours...

Take care buddy!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - The Thank You Economy.

More than ever people need to feel valued themselves and so business who get that will win for sure.

The way I see it consumers are as responsible for demanding good quality and service as much as the companies are responsible for providing it, two sides of a coin and we all have our role to play.

I do totally agree with you about ethics, integrity, and looking after people though, it should be something should be a natural extension of our cores selves manifest in every dealing we have -- whether it be personal or business.

Perhaps it's time to change that old verse, "Money is the root of all evil" -- maybe we could change that to; "money is the fruit of living a passionate and caring life"

Always enjoy your thoughtful comments.

Steve

Re: Disqus Comments: Set a default avatar for your site | Disqus: The Official Blog

Great feature, mine's working fine; http://yourthankyoucard.com.

If a person has an avatar with wordpress or Gravatar will Disqus pull that image in or do they need to have their image loaded in their Disqus account?

Thanks,

Steve

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - The Thank You Economy.

I really dig you and so I'm invested in your success, I want you to be around and I'm sure a lot of people feel exactly the same way (the best part is your book actually kicks ass).

I work with the company SendOutCards and the CEO of that company powerfully believes in appreciating people, acknowledging people, and celebrating them. His main moto is that appreciation wins over self promotion every time...I've found that to be true.

I've built 2 acupuncture clinics now and each time I built them caring for one patient at a time. In fact, I've never advertised my services ever, I just did the best I could for the person in front of me and let the rest take care of itself...and it always did.

I now have a website where I keep a record of cards I send out to people just to say thanks and that I appreciate them (http://yourthankyoucard.com), and back in December, 2007, I actually sent you a card after listening to your call with Rich Schefren, it absolutely blew my mind; http://yourthankyoucard.com/thank-you-card-jour....

“The deepest principle in human nature is the craving for appreciation”
- William James

I think the thank you economy is upon us and really caring for people is where it's at.

Absolutely love what you do!

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Thank you for your support and looks like we made...

HOLY CRAP, that's awesome Gary....congrats on getting to #2 (on the NY Times Best Sellers that is).

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - These are the kind of pictures I like to see LOL!

Yeah, more like 'Power Nap' It for him :)

Re: Thank You For Your Inspiration Greeting Card

Hi Dagmar,

I would love to catch up with you soon, let's do it.
