Yeah, I see your points about Brew but it's always good to have two sides to a story. They may often be negative, but if they loved all animation then no one would respect their blog. There is a ton of controversy and controversy sparks pages views, page views means more people staying on the website longer, the longer people stay on a website, the more an advertiser is willing to pay for ad space. There are tons of industry guys on the site so posting comments with your opinion is another great way to get your name out there and have a voice. And don't be afraid to voice your opinion and sticking to it. There will always be people who disagree with you but be open to everyones opinions and filter out the shit.

Your eyes will continue to open as you engorge yourself into the animation world. It is animation and it is industry. Try and learn as much as you can about both sides. Production and Animation. Most artists (including myself) had no idea what producers, executives etc.etc did until I began meeting with them and asking them. I thought they actually invested their own money into the cartoons! They're taking bigger risks with not only someone elses money, but a multi billion dollar companies money :)

I'll be making many business-type posts, hopefully I have something knowledgable that could help you out!

Take care, dude.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Adventure Time Blog | “Her Parents” Backgrounds (2 of 3)

This is some really beautiful work!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Adventure Time Blog | “The Pods” Animatic

Keep on keeping on dude. Ideas, art, emotion and creativity DO matter, but currently how things are run is all about the bottom line $. Why can't a company produce great cartoons with great animation and run the production so that everyone is actually apart of it? I think the investors would make just as much money, or even MORE with great cartoons as they do with mediocre cartoons. Quality of animation doesn't seem to matter in TV animation, but kids know quality and I believe if you had quality animation on TV cartoons would be more successful. But now a-days no one wants to take a risk on an idea, which is dumb.

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | The Adventure Time Blog | “The Other Tarts” Animatic

I love seeing animatics! :D

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Stephen M. I can't believe the company has grown and expanded to what is is today. With Next New Networks and all. When I first met with you, you guys just had your television shows and the Nickelodeon Animation Festival and from there grew dramatically on the internet with Dan Meth's shorts as a start. Really excellent! Oh, and not to mention Tumblr! Brilliant! I'm sure 2011 will be even better for you guys!

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Fanboy and Chum Chum | Three Annie Nominations for Fanboy

Congrats Eric! I feel like What A Prikk is my strongest idea.

Well for the animatic it's just the brush tool.

For the actual character designs I sketch the characters with the brush tool with my wacom tablet. Then i go over it with the line tool and then convert those lines to fills and taper them.

Is that what you're asking?

Steve

Re: Frederator Studios Blogs | Frederator Films | Sony Pictures Animation + Frederator Films.

This story, is AWESOME!
