I have a question? Who paid their transportation costs to come all the way to Anniston? Did Mr Little, someone else or the City of Anniston?

Who is paying for their stay while here? Again, is Mr Little, someone else or the City of Anniston?

Did someone use their discretionary fund to pay for transportation, lodging, meals and the City bus to carry these folks around Anniston?

I am quite sure that many people all over the US have Creek Indian blood in them, they may want to lay claim to the land also.

There are other members on the Oxford council besides Mr Spurlin and Mr Gardner, are they not as worthy as these two?

I think Mr Whisenhunt has described the Oxford city council very well at times. Since you are a newcomer to the Oxford area you may not be aware of the past of the Oxford city council and Mayor Smith. It has not been a pretty picture.

Mr Spurlin and Mr Gardner are new members on the council and so far it seems that they are the new "yes" men to Mayor Smith.

It is wonderful that you think so highly of the Oxford area...that is a good thing. But until you know the full story behind Mayor Smith and Oxford politics, you don't know squat.

I hope that his fellow inmates don't take kindly to him being a baby killer and they make his life miserable while he is locked up.

I am not a state employee but I do wonder how much the state pays out for their employees that have to go to substance abuse centers? Heaven forbid if there was talk of making an employee that has a substance abuse problem pay for part of their insurance, hell would have to be paid first.

Maybe the state should test for drugs periodically. If an illegal drug shows in the blood then that person should pay a percentage of their insurance.

If an employee has a problem with alcohol, why should that employee not pay a percentage of their insurance?

If the state wants to do what is fair...why not make all employees pay a percentage of their insurance...that way they will not be accused of discriminating against anyone.

And Tom...I love your last sentence and you are so right...the brightest minds do not occupy the places of power in Montgomery. I wonder about the rest of the country too!

You crack me up telling about the lotions and potions, if it strokes their egos then sell them anything they want....obviously they can afford the best. Although I am allergic to smoke I think I could tolerate it better than the smells of some perfumes.

Some women and men seem to think that they have to bathe in their scent when actually a little tab will do ya......lol

If I were you I would carry a little hand held fan around with me just to blow their pompous scents away from my nasal passages.....lol

Beware of the PerfumeSniper,

I truly understand where you are coming from, there are some outrageous smelling perfumes that are sickening. The highnotes on some send me into a dizzying headache and absolutely make me sick to my stomach. It is like some people do not have a nose and cannot smell the stench that some perfumes/colognes have.

Thank God I no longer work and do not have to be subjected to smells. I feel sorry for anyone that has to work around the public, not only because of the air that we breathe but because of the superiority that some people feel they possess.

I'm afraid I would have told that pompous woman that, yes, I can afford the perfume but I am choosy about the scents I wear and yours is not one of them!

I do not see why some people had trouble following what Edward had to say, I understood him perfectly and I have more than an 8th grade education. Calling someone out because of their sentence structure and spelling is silly, who appointed you the grammar and spelling police anyway? And calling each other idiots doesn't make sense either.

Worry about the subject at hand.....the craziness going on in Anniston politics. Lord knows that's enough.

Oh I've got it alright. Like I said...Spurlin ain't got nothing on Mayor Smith. And the City Attorney, he needs to focus on Mayor Smith's doings more than anything else.

Mayor Smith doesn't put things on an agenda...he does as he pleases, ...lol...he has his own agenda. That is how things are never found out.

Some people do not value life...that is the problem. An unborn child is not valued, a human life is not valued. Whether still in the womb or having lived for many years, some people do not care. It is so much easier to have sex and think about the consequences later...live for the moment. That is what is wrong with our Country now...live for the moment and suffer the consequences later...well, I have to say...our country is suffering the consequences now. Our later has come sooner.

It is what it is.

Whether Christian or not...some people do value a human life...a human soul. Taking that life...that soul...whether it be by an abortionist or by the weapon of a killer, it is all the same. Murder is murder.

Phil Gardner says he wants to make sure the street department is taking care of the city's streets. First he needs to make sure that the street department supervisors (his brother included) do their job. Perhaps he needs to remind them that they are being paid to do a job and then they need to DO THEIR JOB.

I believe that punitive damages is left to the discretion of the court, I think they go by how harmed the plaintiff is and how "bad" the defendant is...that is what I understand with my limited knowledge.

Like someone said...Mr Robinson needs to keep his mouth shut. Mr Little needs to keep his mouth shut too. 2 hot heads, all mouth and no brains....will it ever end?

I do not see that the Star is manufacturing anything, let the truth be known is how I see it and you are reading the truth, it is just how you want to interpret what you read.

Mayor Smith is not an idiot, in fact I would say he is as sly as a fox. He knows exactly how to manipulate the system, he knows exactly how to get around the legalities of things just enough to make it legal.

Manufacture a story or a witch hunt....hardly. This is merely the tip of the iceberg.
