Interesting, but only if one thinks there is any appreciable difference between Republicans and Democrats. I imagine there is very little. I also imagine that part of the game is to make it seem as though there is so we can 'root for our team' every so often and elect the same type of cat in different pajamas. Republocrats are still in the business of increasing the size of government. Q.E.D.

More interesting articles! We can certainly agree that we will be best served if all options are considered and debated. I also agree that the gas-fired auto likely will not be the front-runner it has been for the past few decades. I still say let the free market decide which are the most effective and desirable options in each area. Ridership on light rail in the Denver area is a joke as there are typically not well-integrated options at one end of a passenger's commute (one often starts at a Park 'n' Ride, but if not working downtown, there is not a good way to get from the train station to one's office). I appreciate your point of view as the discussion of these issues is what will hopefully move things forward. Thanks.

FWIW, I disagree that rail is a good mode of passenger transport here or in Europe. It is not carbon-friendly or a good use of taxpayer funding. Also, ridership is down. Here is an opposing point of view: http://www.cato.org/pub_dis...
