I remember seeing Howard the Duck during my teenage years and remember thinking it was a trashy but harmless B movie. Whilst it's not a good film in my opinion, it's certainly not a crime against cinema that critics often decry it as.

I agree, it's a good show but not one that I'm emotionally bonding with. Band of Brothers had very strong characterisation whereas The Pacific seems to be struggling to effectively introduce and establish its protagonists.

I think the reason for Chuck not getting a good job was because he felt he couldn't get one after being kicked out of Stanford for cheating and ended up drifting along at the Buy More. That's all changed now that the government gave him a Stanford degree but that does beg the question, why doesn't he now go out and get a better job anyway?

Also, I would totally watch Adolf Hitler reading the novelisation of Inglorious Basterds on Jackanory. It would be even better than when Rik Mayall read George's Marvellous Medicine.

I didn't realise this was a Superbowl week episode, that explains Bettis's presence. He's a retired player who won a Superbowl; not exactly Beckham like in popularity but still pretty famous in NFL circles.

But yeah, he was pretty good considering he's an ex athlete.

I thought the golden ticket plot and the assassination plot were going to merge in the finale but it seems the Buy More plot was just there to highlight ex NFL star Jerome Bettis. He put in a decent performance but he didn't get as memorable a role as Michael Strahan did earlier in the season.

There were plenty of Die Hard references too, Big Mike's cousin was the cop from that movie - he introduced himself while eating a twinkie, which was what he was shopping for when introduced in Die Hard. I think there were a couple of Die Hard musical cues too, one where the shop was 'locked down' and another when Big Mike and his cousin were reunited.

Die Hard is the greatest Xmas movie ever.

Yeah, it's a pretty disappointing blockbuster year. Star Trek, Drag Me To Hell and Crank 2 (yes, that's right) have been bright spots this year though.

I do get some enjoyment from watching the likes of Merlin & Robin Hood and, as I've said before, I'm glad that the BBC are brave enough to have a go at creating interesting genre shows. In fact, looking at my first episode recap of Merlin, I was quite positive despite my terrible observational humour.

I do moan about writing the recaps but that's become a running joke in itself along with my slack attempts at keeping to a schedule.

And if you say I love Demons again, I will kill you so hard...
