Now all they're lacking is funny hair, and we're ready for launch... oh, and a story, I suppose.

Re: Wing Commander

Ah, this is what it's all about, Spoony and some horrible horrible movie or game, in this case a movie game, which could be considered a double whammy as far as rageability (not a word) is considered.

Re: FMV Hell – Privateer 2: The Darkening

You KNOW you're in for a fun ride with a title like "The Darkening." You don't see silly subtitles all that much nowadays, but that could be because entertainment media has a bad case of The Reboots at this point in time.

Re: Let’s Play SWAT 4 – Mission #13: Jason Lives

Well, at least there weren't rage monkeys, and those Jason ripoffs didn't have his annoying endurance and tenacity, so all in all, this mission could be a lot worse, right?

Re: Shutter Island: A Puzzle of Flesh

And if you think THIS looks good, wait till you see Shutter Island: A puzzle of the flesh: The Game. Puzzlingly enough, it's a first-person fighting game set on mars.

Re: Party Mania Commentary

And the Foe Yay-vibes between Spoony & Insano grows ever on. That said, the joke mentioned at the end there... just blew my mind. My mind is blown... by that joke.

Re: Squall’s Dead

Ah, the ubiquitous "The hero was dead since event X"-theory, only slightly less prevalent than "The story is set in hell/purgatory." Well, I guess it makes about as much sense as it can, which isn't much, but... y'know.

Re: Madness of Roland

Well, that was... a violent brainfuck if I ever saw one. Kind of Freud meets The Ring, I think. Also, the lighting was really cool on the pre-madness segment, in fact I was a mite dissapointed that nothing came out of the darkness to the right there to tear your face off. Oh well, red herrings in my overactive imagination, I guess.

Re: CROW SCARE

Ah, puns, how delightful. Can't really decide if this is related to the big C or just a funny co-incidink :P

Re: CROW SCARE

I dunno about the dies first thing, to my experience, females seem to live dangerously in the initial stages. Especially blondes if nothing else because the "Survivor Girl" is very often a brunette for some reason, at least in Slashers. Zombie movies is a bit more fair and equality-oriented in that respect, in that everyone pretty much is doomed to be zomibe chow :D

Re: CROW SCARE

Yeah, horror movies nowadays do cheapen the horror bit quite a lot. Of course not all. After five watchings, Rec (2007) still scares me five ways to Paris, Texas and back, and I'm definitely not easy to scare. I feel like an old whippersnapper, at the age of 19, when I talk about horror movies, but the main problem with the bad ones today seem to be that they either forget trying to makea buildup or makes the buildup so formulaic that it becomes predictable, or so poor it vanishes the second any sort of release happens. The really good horror movies stay with you after you exit the cinema, turn of the TV and most importantly the light, where you're left with yourself and the monsters.

But listen to me raving about horror movies like... a horror movie nerd :P

Re: CROW SCARE

It's called being Genre Savvy, doctor, and it's a sure sign you'll die early in a horror movie :P

Re: CROW SCARE

Ok, say with me: heist gone wrong. Manslaughter by megacrow anyone?

Re: CROW SCARE

So, if anyone ever wondered what is worse than a giantic mean-spirited hellcrow with teeth, we now have the answer. Of course it is: a giantic mean-spirited hellcrow with teeth... that's on FIRE. Hehe, fire good. Seriously though, I think we have a survivor here. Could be wrong though.

Re: CROW SCARE

Yeah, either the cliches are intentional, or that tree is built out of whatever evil villains all over the world fill their barrels with for some reason or other. Anyway, I'd call the narrative devices used in this comic more Tropes than clichés, especially if it is done in jest, tribute or reference.

Re: CROW SCARE

That's one big, mean, crow you got thar' :P
Honestly, I felt vaugely sceptical when I found a comic about violent crows, as I was fearing some sort of The Birds ripoff. However, I'm really liking the look of this so far, the Crow King seems like a good horror villain, in the sense that he's silent, murderous and like a goddamn force of nature. I'm excited to see what matter of twists and turns we might see later in the series.
