Faust was really friggin' good. Also, Circulatory System's recent touring served them well; they seemed a lot more focused than the show earlier this summer.

I haven't seen Meat Puppets at all, but I've always found the crowd at The EARL to be similar to what you describe for anything that's well-attended at all.

That's actually just the 7" cover; I don't think the full-album art is out yet. The donut is raised/embossed(?) on the 7" cover.
