No it absolutely did not start off well at all, but things picked up from here and the rest of the trip was truly spectacular. I was back in the States less than 3 days before my mind starting wandering towards plans for next year.

And you're right ... if I had used even just the tiniest bit of the Japanese I've learned over the past year or so, there probably wouldn't have been quite as much confusion or miscommunication. Another lesson learned. Don't let the fear of sounding like a "foreigner" stop you from using any of the language skills you've learned. The person you're speaking with is probably just as uneasy speaking English as you are speaking Japanese!!

Re: http://blog.rainbowhill.com.au/2009/08/bottom-grabbing-on-twitter-how-to-play.html

This is such a cool game but be sure to read up on the rules or you'll accidentally end the game by using ん (like I did! -- oops) See Hyde of L'Arc-en-ciel and the pretty singing boys of KAT-TUN play an illustrated version of shiritori http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: The “Shiira” Story

Jamila, so glad you dropped by my humble little blog.
