Date - Look at the chart date- 26 May to 1 June, So it only covers 3 days of Mario kart 8, next week will be more insightful.

Also Japan market is down these days so expect less sale.

No I am not. I don't even own a Wii U or Wii or any other Nintendo made console. The last console I remember playing was Ps2 until today when I first laid my hands on friends Wii.

Also I'd blame marketting more, than poor hardware choices. As per third party support goes, I have already expressed my discontent in the above post.

The arrogance of media is excessive against Wii U. Had it been highlighted good enough it'd be a great seller coupled with timely first party release. Why do you think third party dropping the ball even when they are embracing 360/ps3? Its not because of specs but because of market share. Do you think Wii/3ds or even DS are comparable enough with their competition when it comes to specs?

Other than that what you'd conclude from this review conclusion. $330 for one game? How arrogant/ill informed the author is. http://time.com/97022/mario...

Let me start this post with a big facepalm. I really enjoyed reading BSN articles and others as well but I am not sure why but whole journalism has become a bit unrealistic.

Now to the point. Its pretty natural for a company to work a new hardware whether newer console or newer iteration of older die, better stepping, lower nodes and what not. So that shouldn't come as surprise. I wouldn't be shocked to see MS releasing a 20nm part with slimmed down Xbox in the near future, Or an enhanced 28nm brethren with lower leakage.

I usually don't gauge a system prowess with the unit sold. It may be relevant to some but this is not how custom/embedded devices work. Look at nvidia / HTC and others, they have excellent design on their hand but no audience. I for one consider Wii U as a good "system" since its a consumption device rather than crying out loud for specification. How many out there know the precise specs of iphone? But still majority owns one.

Tell me anshel do you expect from a console / custom solution provider to shell out their IPs/S.w onto other platforms? Its a completely stupid notion that everyone keeps running after. There is no iphone without ios/ioffice or whatever they have. These embedded device has a selling point and that is not hardware (though it is a crucial element ) but not the defacto standard, its the s.w that sells, the experience that matter. Tell me if MS license Halo to PC or PS4 who's gonna buy the Xbox? No one. Same goes for Sony. I don't understand why people keep crying for nintendo to put their IPs to other consoles, why can;t be other way around? In reality it can't be!

What good will Nintendo get if they release a system that is on par or better than PS4? Even if they release it now ,no one gonna buy it! Why? Because if they are not able to deliver consistent content for Wii U, god knows what they'll do with the next one. As far as third party, Nintendo consoles hasnt been about 3rd party titles which is a bad thing for sure. But there is no guarantee that releasing a power console will warrant stable third party support.

Third party is only about sales/ market cap- even if they manage to release a powerful counterpart lower market cap will eventually result in the same fate.

The point is , Wii U has great games first party and indie titles but unfortunately media seems to have turned nelson eye on the catalog. Every great game is gauged with the notion -" Is this enough?. Will it sell?" Which is downright stupid since every good title contribute to console sale. Ohh and I bet PS4 will be in a dire situation when it comes to exclusive titles since most of the games slated are targetting mid/fall 2015 release.

Wii U has its own share of problems which may be not huge but lots of smaller ones. Until and unless Nintendo tackle them it won't help. As for me, I don't own any console since the price and culture here is not acceptable for gaming :P But if I had to pick one right now it'll be Wii U for everything else/multiplat there is a pc.

RaspberryPI (for projects) as of now. My phone died on me Xperia Sola (ARM v7core) so keeping that out. Other than that I own Motorola WX260 :P (not sure of the processor/seems like a custom chip).

Not sure what's my TV/ Washing Machine/ Fridge uses but definitely not an ARM core maybe some low power flip flops but not a full fledged core I reckon.

I really feel pity for AMD ,from 2011 onwards i have been hearing the tablet / ultraportable push yet other than Brazos none of their SOCs/APU landed good design wins. From the past few years its mostly paper launch with no product in hand.

What eventually they'll come out is shady looking devices that nobody cares. Both AMD and Nvidia are really struggling in UMPC/Mobile market. Just glaring over Intel's design wins makes me wonder why such capable chips never got the attention they deserve. Even an year after Kabini launch I am still waiting for a vaible design and Puma/Beema is hitting the shores- wonder if there are any good design wins under 12" segment.

Well that shouldn't come as a shock considering we have yet to see any competing device from nvidia, t4 and t4i though looked great were poorly adopted and heck I can't even recall a global device based on that.

Any idea of which processing tech they are using SOI or BULK ? Also they are still sticking to TSMC or have shifted some production to GloFo?
