Yeah, one of the major flaws in the story was that people were dumb as hell. Alestis and Maori were really awkward of a relationship and everyone else weren't too much better.

Also, I'm miserable at names. Obviously.

The virus is actually a nanovirus with nanobots so yes, you could eventually become a robot or at least something that looks and acts similar to a robot. If they liked their form as is, then the nanobots would instead get to work slowly replacing organic material with themselves, creating organs that function much more efficiently than that of a non-infected human but with little to no outward change.

However, the virus is also very sensitive with what it registers as a wanted change and works almost entirely off of the dreams of its host so if you have a string of nightmares right before transforming, um, have fun looking like a monster.

If this is a TF fic I want to murder someone. The DEMONs are outcast by normal society for looking like monstrosities and eventually society as a whole is torn apart by the epidemic. Many of them are driven insane by side effects of their transformations.

Not TF material if you'd ask me.
