For goodness sake, 19 years of service and only 1 mistake. doesnt sound like theft to me. The facts will exonerate her and hopefully she'll get an apology for defaming her. Also....how do you know what she makes at her current job "taxpater"....how do you even know if shes employed at all?

Kc2 is absolutely correct, she IS a mom, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a daughter and many people love and respect her. She would NEVER risk all she has worked so very hard for. She is actually one of the few examples in our city of someone who persevered despite all the adversity around us. Lets give her the same opportunity that you would want given to you if you were in her shoes. And please stop exposing yourselves as ignorant, prejudiced, intolerant morons with such vitriolic comments. Your becoming part of the problem rather than the solution.

If u know the woman in this story, as you claim...then you would know that it isnt in her character to do what she accused of doing.
It's obvious she is being singled out and scapegoated in an ill fated attempt to justify the lackluster performance of the employees in that department, and the entire courthouse for that matter. we will see, in time, that there are several others there that are much more likely to have done something unsrupulous, and illegal.
luckily your words carry no weight, and no one pays attention to your hateful diatribes. anyone who knows you will attest to that. if there are ANY kids in this town that need pity and prayer, its yours. God help them.
and because its painfully obvious that your soul is tarnished and your heart is chuck-full of hate, i would ask that God helps you also, he knows you need it.

I'll bet u have an excellent family that loves u very much and a great relationship with all ur cousins and sisters as well. i'd even venture to say that you have a strong, stable father figure in your life becaue u sound so secure, and confident. hey DEEPTHROAT...since it sounds like you at least have SOME sense, i will give u the courtesy of a reply. Your correct, I DO know her, and I happen to, (unfortunately), know bstrong as well. I just get worked up because there are many members here who have jumped to the conclusion that she did what she is accused of. And to be honest, its not just this case...there have been many other instances where certain people make assumptions because of a persons race, color, creed or religion, and that bothers me. Being a minority myself, i have a bias towards giving others a fair shake, as u know, there is alot of stereotyping being done here and all over for that matter. So i stick up for the underdog most of the time. I just want some of the ignorance to stop. It doesnt help anyone and just contributes to some of whats really wrong with us. The city of Lawrence gets a bad rap every time one of us does something stupid, and I'll be the 1st to agree that we give the nay-sayers plenty of reasons to paint us all with a broad brush. However, i think most reasonable, prudently thinking people understand that its not ALL of us. For just like in every race, there are those who abide by the rules of society and those who do not. So I like to point out ignorance and intolerance in some of the posts here. If we all just treat each other as we would like to be treated, it would be alot more nice a place to live. Thats all...just want a fair shake.

I agree with SenseMaker...and having lived in Lawrence, I know that the mob mentality is prevelant. Unfortunately, the racism, sexism, socio-econmic hierarchy, and just plain ignorance, that is rampant here, is what drives some of these comments.
