Timothy McVeigh was not a Christian fundamentalist. He had at best very loose and long abandoned connections with Roman C a t h o l i c i s m in his youth. McVeigh was a hardened Constitutionalist who adamantly defended 2nd Amendment rights at g u n shows and felt the United States federal government had stepped over the line with murder at Ruby Ridge and then Waco.

McVeigh earned the Bronze Star while fighting in the 91 Gulf War. He left the US Army voluntarily by not reenlisting.

McVeigh had his beliefs and was willing to die for them. At least he was not under the influence of Charles Manson or Johnny Cochran.

It might be best if we all simply stop giving attention to Breivik's political and cultural views. That is what he wants by way of ki11ing children as the shock attention getting mechanism. Nothing is worth the ki11ing of children. The problems of multiculturalism and Islam in Europe can be dealt with without ki11ing children. Breivik simply did not possess the talent required to properly and successfully address the issues. He goes down as a mass murderer who did not really contribute to the cause of national and cultural identity in Europe except as an imbecile.
