Our retweet count only captures those times when user A is mentioned in the retweet. If C retweets B, but says: "RT @B RT @A: etc etc" then A would be counted, otherwise A would not. In our next report, however, we hope to do more sophisticated retweeting  analysis, identifying the most popular tweets being retweeted and tracing how a given tweet flows through a network of users.
