Anyone of any age or species can be a jerk: it's not just for old people. My cat is a jerk on a daily basis, but I still love him. also, the brain that regulates inhibition degrades, so things just come out. They can't help it like just children bc they haven't fully developed that part yet. How about this year people try to be more understanding & patient. Might make a better world.

Kids are amazingly resilient. Missing a parade did not crush his spirit. It takes much more to crush their spirits. It might have made him upset b/c he didn't get to go see it b/c his mother is not smart enough to realize she could go to where the parade is. Or maybe he was upset b/c he realized his mother is an idiot.

As someone w/ a January birthday, this is annoying. I think having a winter birthday helps break up the dreary day. It gives me something to look forward to, especially after the all the hoopla of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. If these mombies truly loved their kids, they would figure out a way to celebrate the birthdays in the actual month. But, you know, there will soon be a backlash. Mombies will be looking down on those who do not celebrate on the actual day. I mean, c'mon, we do it for Baby Jesus..maybe, possibly..

When they get smug with me, I like to point out that I can usually tell a home schooled kid bc they're a little off. I have several home schooled friends. Wonderful people, but socially off. Usually knocks the wind out of their sails.

Hey Mr. Gaboon, you know what I learned in one of my education classes? That kids who are taught early show advances at the younger grades, but once they reach like their teens, not much of a difference in achievement. So great now, but kids are long term investments. I hope, though, your kid learns compassion. Maybe you should in on those classes.
