For a change it was nice to read a News Paper in the morning .Normally I advice students and youngsters to read the paper late in the evening .The reason is we hear nothing but rape ,bulgary ,swindling of the nations wealth by some politicnas or other , riots , fights and beating people of a region etc.
Sachin for a change you made the old habit of reading news paper in the morning which was a pleasure albeit for a day.

The point is that it is not number one or two or n th. The Australians - have been always behaving badly for quite a long time .Infact if I am not mistaken they have brought in sleddging - a form of Ragging .
No where people have supported Ben - he made a mistake and he got punished fot it .
Australia has been my favourite team for ages - in the last decade are so they slipped being my favourite simply I do not support or encourage rudness in any form .
Infact if you have noticed being number oone they got away with murder often .Even umpires are carried away by the aura - if you see the dubiouds decisions gone in their favour . Thank God today we have nuetral umpires earlier it was too much .
Being number one does not give a right to be rude and crude.

Cancer once starts it is very difficult to stop .The ot has started long back - Match refrees are nimkoof's and they do not understand fairness to bias.
No medication works it is surgery .The surgery is by CA and not match refree .Bad behaviour the meber must be fined by respective board by simply dropping such players .
Match refree - is like law .
If CA does it it is discipline .

Looks like class I students excuse for not coming to school or not doing the home work .If these guys are not interested there are many who can be picked.when they won the onaugural world championship - they pocketed tons of money.
When some body can not accept a defeat they have no business to play the game.sri Lanks were better that day they won.
What about dropping catches - is it practice for dropping catches in one day - a trial .or practice to drop more in one day.

There is no sense in such arrangements - play countries like Bangladesh ,Zimbabwe etc only helps the statistics of some players - with little or no interest in the matches . So the bottome half can play more often against each other and top teams against good teams .

More importnnt cut down the one days and 20-20 .Unfortunately money speaks not the brain.

I just do not agree with the statement Rahul Dravid - was not a great captain.He is a thinker , cool and knowledgeble .Rahul Would have made a great captain.We had Greg Chappel and Kiron More who have together killed the game .we would have been finsihed as a cricketing nation under them .Thanks to Saurav , and the seniors we survived .These two were like Rahu and Ketu in their worst form .They made Rahul life miserable .Yes only thing I feel bad was Rahul did not give enough support to Saurav.

The spinners were at their best in the second test.one end is bottled up -no runs coming oOhja and the other side Harbhajan experimenting .This is the best strategy .If both experiment runs will flow at times soon demoralising the bowlers.Whe one end you put a knot , the othr end batsmen try to score and give opportunity to take wickets .This is a right strategy to follow.

Some one is slow in assesing the impact . Let me also comment - 20-20 popularity in the long run will only kill the game . I have known a number of hard core followers saying - they watch 20-20 when thee is nothing else to do. I do not even do that .
Look at New Zeland , they dropped their best bowler at the instance of BCCI for playing in ICL .Today he gave them a winning position .It was unfortunate llot of cricket lovers missed such a great bowler for quite some time .What could have been the result India series if he was present is anybody's guess .
For BCCI - it money all the way - all other things are immaterial - whether it is the players or the game or the very foundation of the game .
See amount of Cheddi cricket we play .Atleast I hope other nations realise the true form of the game .Understand this is aleisurely game ,testing patience of the all.
The way the pitches are prepared with no result most often - inly kills the game .
It is only making a few very rich -nothing beyond that.

Personally I do not appreciate this type of talk.Hatbhajan has said we will beat Australia 5-2 .We also had great speaches by Gautam Gambhir and Sewag- the match winner as referred by bygone greats.
Do it or just do it .do not utter a word.
If you are compelled talk on strnhs and weakness of the team and each players .
Reching top is ok ramianing there is important.We are consistently inconsistent in performance. There are a lot of things to learn from the Aussies .Inspite of losing so many players they still are good enought to beat India.

Here is How it happens .there was a time I used to watch 5 day test matches .I still watch but not that seriously -from time to time in the day. One day internationals I used to watch regularly .Now I shifted gear watch only Indians batting .Not the opponents .Next I watch only a few players .Soon I will see the news only .Not a single 20-20 I have watched fully .soon Cricket is going to be dead game .

In 50 overs game - when you are bowling first - the wickets taken in the first fifteen over is crucial - as there are feild restrictions and also the batsmen try to up the run rate .Next 16-30 is crucial becuase consolidation or improvement take place in this phase .Normally after 30 overs - if the batting team has lost few wickets ,batmen try to freak out - although important to take wickets it is not necessary that abowler is bowling well .They can take wicket as batamen try to throw bat at everything .

Finally with high score and less wickets lost - last 5 overs are too critical .

When you are batting second - as usual forst 15 overs are very critical to take wickets - against tall score batsmen go bersek , so taking wickets will put pressure .Similarly 15-30 consolidation phase if the score is high and lees wickets lost - the bowler have to do repair work hence the bowling is important - either to control the run rate or take wickets - here the spinners play a great role . after thirty overs - by and large the fate is well known - if the score is good the wickets are lost due to batsmen playing recklessly .So by and large wickets taken in0-30 are more critical to a teams success . Exceptions are laways there. You can see how often Indian teams take wickets in the first 30 and then bowl badly leading to losing a game - albeit occassionally .

In conclusion I believe wicket taken in first 30 over are premium.

Also do remember after 6 or 7 wickets it is usually bowlers who throw their bats for a good measure . You can see this happening in Indian Innings .

Srilanka won a number of matches under Jayasury a and Kaluvitarana - simply because - run rate was never an issue .

Very often - we believe too much on Dhoni , Yuvraj etc - with out resonable rate of score - this will likely to backfire than succeed.

Apart from Sreesanth there are alot of people reponsible for his atrocious behaviour .Including some of the so clled greats of yester years .They always said "it is competitive spirit ,killer instinct , challenges and spirit of fighting qulaities etc and what not " Even the captain and seniors could have stopped him. No when you are successful everything you do is admired .The moment you fail - everyone is at your throat .

Hopw other youngsters will learn from his experience .

The important thing is if they have injuries why select them or why not drop them .I would even sugget take some one from under 19 team .Atleast it will be investment for the future .Anyway with injuries you can not expect them to give the best .Anything less than the best you have zero chance of winning against the Australians.
We talk about bench strength - where is it ? It was only a few months before we were talking so many medium pacers and such a huge pool of talent - where are we going wwrong ?
Almost all of them barring one or two exceptions played in IPL - they should have recovered rested for more important series where they are perpeted as representing the nation.
Just calling people names because you have different idea shows culture .

Gambhir Knock is described as Sheet Anchors role - what was Dravid doing for decades . The top four batsmen did not score even what the number 8 scored .All are match winners and the joke is some one saying that we did not do well in CT becuase some of senior and match winners were not there. Every one has a right to have his opinion , we respect it , not necessarily agree .Also it is seen there are different yard sticks - for one who fails 8 out of 10 times , you say he is match winner (Shewag) . For some one who fails when in need we can not think of team with out him (Sachin ).For some one who can stay and allow others to score around him (Dravid ) you have reasons from being slow to Chadraayan failure . Long Back once Gavaskar has said that selectors are a bunch of jokers - this group has proved him right .
Rahul Dravid is an anchor to the team and players around him are expected to score .
He was far better than many of the big names .
Dropping him only shows that the selectors are not people with an idealogy or vision or even with a game plan.
Every time the team fails some necks roll often they are any others other than the culprits .

I am suprised that a senior Cricketer has to tell .Those who have seen the TV can see from the body language of the players .

Infact for along time there has been a debate of paying fixed and variable - amount based on the results .this is waht good companies in corporate world does -Pay for performance .

Twenty -Twenty is a business and not asport like some of the most important aspects we are seeing - The standard of the game is going to drop -sooner or later .One thing which reminds me is the ducation system in India - every two penny politican has a trust which runs institutes which charge literally lkhs for a seat and what we get in the long run is poor quality .

With the money they earn in two to three seasons - which many cricketers of the past - just 10 years back never earned in their life time . so no suprise they are too busy counting the bank balances .Period.

This is How things work in this country . Including the commentators some of them great palyers of the past - never ever telling the players that the Australian way of playing cricket is not in true spirit .Instead they applauded the aggression .The disease was spreading with most players playing more with mouth than bats and arms & feet.

Suddenly BCCI wakes up and warns him .

He should have been stopped at the early days . There are few others who need this warning in the Indian team , but the fact is they are deivering for the team - so no one talks , unfortunatly for Srisanth he failed .

It is very important to inculcate discipline in the early stages - What are all the managers ,Coaches etc were doing .
Anyway it better late than never.
