While many of my social views lean left, as a fiscal conservative I have always supported Elizabeth Dole at the polls.</p><p>Not this time.</p><p>Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist........one of the foundations of the American system and culture is the ability to practice whatever religion......or not........that you choose.</p><p>While I, myself, am an atheist, I support people of faith in their beliefs and am proud to live in a country that allows us the freedom of religion, but I also believe, not only in the separation of church and state, but in fairness and ethical behavior.</p><p>Apparently Elizabeth Dole and I no longer see eye to eye on fundamentals.</p><p>Shameful.</p><p>More than anything it's a matter of judgement; this ad shows a serious lack of good judgement and that is a quality that I would hope we would have in our Senators.</p><p>I have been disappointed with the nature of the ad's from both parties, but this one was Over The Top!</p><p>Congrats Senator Hagan.......I believe you have just won this one; you certainly have my vote as I can no longer, in good conscience, vote for Elizabeth Dole.</p>SCarterJrFri, 31 Oct 2008 19:47:14 -0000
