The best way to force energy efficiency is to charge for it. Four dollar gas got us results, far more then any idiotic useless gummint mandated CAFE standard. Besides, this works out to 1 mil per job. It's just not efficient as a full dedicated mass transit system yet needs quite a bit of infrastructure. Trains have to blow horns at all crossings. Period. The fewer crossings, the fewer blasts on the air horns. But you-all are missing the big point. Nothing more dangerous then rail crossings.
