At no point did we mention "feeds", "rss" or any other jargon which could potentially create barriers.

People are now becoming used to checking the feed to see their connections' status updates, what they've posted to community forums and written in their blogs. With a minor tweak, we can allow people to subscribe to news stories or any other syndicated content.

Re: Managing Yourself: What’s Your Personal Social Media Strategy? - Harvard Business Review

Irony:

"Dickson... had no idea what YouTube was when his marketing director pitched the video idea. Jumping too quickly into solution mode can result in poor problem definition, incomplete analysis, lack of mutual understanding and completely missing important considerations.
Get the client to go back and explain the problem, but try to avoid talking about their solution. I find "five whys" a useful technique, while asking seemingly naive questions can help you avoid assuming too much.

Help your client to think through the problem in more detail from your perspective and they may spot a weakness in their solution or even something they've completely neglected. This will reassure them they were right to hire you.

Re: Foursquare for the Enterprise? People travelling on business would see who planned to be at their destination around a future point in time, the increased visibility allowing them to change their travel plans if advantageous.

Sadly we weren't able to do this, but I still feel it offers more potential than mere check-ins, particularly if there's a travel authorisation system where the information already exists.

Re: Freebees - Cognitive Edge Network Blog

I'd love a Gaping Void Cynefin artwork to hang on the wall - fits nicely in the cubicle grenade/conversation piece context Hugh talks about.
