Then again I don't believe dolphins exist for the same reason: I've never seen one in real life.

I've always enjoyed the concept and practice of traumatic insemination, I had no idea it extended beyond the insects though. The adactylidium mites are fantastic! It's like the smaller something is the more fucked up it's lifestyle can get. Fucked up, complicated but also pretty basic.
Truly nature is respectable.

We had a bladderwort plant in our aquarium when I was a kid, and my stupid parents refused to believe me when I told them so, also they denied that there were any aquatic carnivorous plants.
This is made all the more stupid because I learned about them from the encyclopedias they bought us (me and my sisters) the year before. In retrospect this is prolly why I'm so un-confrontational, whenever people don't believe me about things I know are true I just let them keep their blissful ignorance.

Wow, your article made me have a pretty enlightening yet totally depressing nostalgic moment. Thanks for that.
