Like Shawn, I've been affiliate marketing since 1997, I started blogging in 2004 and the only real change since 2004 is my choice of publishing platform - a blog.

Does that make me a blogger? I suppose so. Regardless of how me manage our content, however, technically we're all 'publishers'.

The only distinction I make between publishers who monetize informative content and those who do not is that one group is in business and the others are hobbyists.

As for the 'smarmy' set who publish crap on 1000 blogs, they're neither... Google will oust them eventually... we can only hope.
