The past few years have been pretty bad for anime, in my opinion. The amount I’ve been interested in have been very few and far between, as more shows have become lazy with the animation, choosing CGI over traditional hand drawn animation.

Sarazanmai(2019) was the last new anime I can remember really enjoying, and I don’t think there was a single anime in 2020 that really stood out in my mind. But the good thing is, as you guys mentioned, a lot of old anime are getting remastered blu-rays, so I’ve been catching up on the classics.

I recently bought a cheap 1080p video projector and I’ve been watching 80s remasters on a 72 inch screen, and boy is that a treat! Recently my wife and I watched the remaster of Riding Bean, and by god does that have some great animation! I couldn’t help but point out every time there was a complex action shot, how if that OVA was made today so much of it would be ruined by CGI.

It’s a shame how much anime has fallen in recent years. But at least we still got the classics, and the rare new anime that doesn’t use CGI for everything but static backgrounds and characters(like Mob Psycho 100, which I highly recommend you guys check out if you haven’t seen it).

Anyways that’s all for now; this probably would have been better as an email and not a comment, but I don’t really use email anymore either, lol so this will have to do. 🙃

Glad to hear from you guys again. It's been far too long. If the only way to hear your orgasmic voices is for you to release solo-casts every now and again, I say go for it.

Now for a question: It seems there is a resurgences of Mecha anime this season(and by the looks of it next season as well). Have you guys checked out any of the mecha shows currently airing?

Dane, if you haven't checked it out already, I recommend Kenzen Robo Daimidaler, it's like if the 80s and 90s had sex. Very crazy super robot show.

Alex, I recommend this every time you bring up Japanese dramas: watch Ikebukuro West Gate Park, it's one of the best Japanese Dramas I've seen. I feel for you trying to find an other good J-Drama to watch; it's like trying to find a good anime, only even harder, because you can't judge a good J-Drama by it's cover like you can with anime.

This is my new favorite comic episode, both the art and writing in this one were great. Bod at the end of the tunnel, what what.
