It looks to me like the same one Jennifer wore to the A+E upfront May 10.

Rodney D. Willard may have been too canid when he said the poor have a safety net and the rich were doing fine. But it seems to me that what he said there only proves that like every candidate who is running a campaign for president builds it around claims their presidency will help the middle class more than any other group. That’s the way of American politics. It’s based on the mostly correct notion that the rich have lobbyists and the poor don’t vote much.

There are plenty of reasons not to support Romney but I don’t think this statement is one of them. But it probably will hurt him to have made it.

Rodney D. It happened in Hawaii in November of 2007 to Scottish actor Ross McCall. They had been a couple for two years having met when he was a guest star on her show “Ghost Whisperer.” They split about a year later in December 2008 for undisclosed reasons.

Jennifer has been accused of being a “serial dater” (whatever that means?). Consider that her dating has been in the public eye since she was 14 (1993). During that time she has being reported as supposedly linked to 20 to 30 different men -- mostly celebrities (some of whom like Enrique Iglesias deny that they ever did anything but work together). But even if you accept the top number of 30, that is not even two men per year in those 18 years. Plus many of those “relationships” were very likely nothing more than a few of high visibility outings arranged by publicists.

For an attractive woman who has not yet settled into a long-term relationship, Jennifer’s dating habits hardly seems unusual. If anything, she is probably on the celibate side.

Rodney D. To make room for its mostly male-dominated new shows, CBS canceled 7 shows, four of which had strong female leads: “Cold Case” (already noted), “Ghost Whisperer” (with the fabulous Camryn Manheim in a supporting role), “The New Adventures of Old Christine”, and “Accidentally on Purpose.” Go figure?

Rodney D. I think it is Jennifer’s head pasted on another woman wearing a bunny collar and costume.

Why?
1. The lighting is wrong. The left shoulder would be closer to the flash than her face yet her face is much lighter.
2. Jennifer dressed up as a Playboy bunny would be big news. But this costume has not shown up on other media sites.

I could be wrong but I don’t think so. This pack rat is certainly not an expert in detecting fakes so I would like to hear from those who know more about digital manipulation.

Rodney D. I eyeballed the first three weeks data between this season and last and it looked to me like the total network viewership is about the same or a little lower. The big change was that the number two and even more so the number three show in each time slot was pulling more viewers. So some of the casual viewers of GW may have switched to L&O or SN. But they also appear to come back as evidenced by the good DVR+7 gains.
So CBS may be the victim of its own success by showing you can succeed on Friday night. Now ABC and NBC are programming more aggressively against them and drawing some viewers.

Rodney D. Sort of the quite before the storm of Jim’s death hit. Of course, in Melinda’s world quiet is never really possible and so the couple’s restful cruise wound up being accompanied by over 20 troubled spirits and the solution to a not-murder. But Melinda got all but one spirit to cross over. The still earthbound one and Mel made a great pair so I hope you bring her back in a future episode.

One of my favorite scenes was where Melinda told Jim to get busy investigating while she settled in to her deckchair. Is there any doubt who’s boss in this marriage? Also, the cruise gave Mel the chance to dress up a lot more then she has the rest of the season. And of course she looked fabulous!

On another note, I’m getting very discouraged about commenting over at TV Guide with all those troll posts against the story, Jamie Kennedy, and P.K. Simonds. I hope you producers will consider moving the blog here (or somewhere else where you have more ability to monitor the comments).

Looking forward to a new episode tonight.

Rodney D.
