I had a forty-year nuclear career. I got an Associate of General Science degree at age 50 that I needed to teach as an adjunct professor in a local community college's Nuclear Technology program after a 25-year career providing radiation safety. In my youth I worked with a PhD who cooked in a local restaurant, which forever tainted my view of the value of a degree.

I just read the bill. I didn't see anything about Bible sales in it anywhere. It bans conversion therapy for homosexuals. Please, let's stay at least honest about it. I disagree with the bill, but it doesn't say what the article claims it says.

Firewire, not beige, Unix-based OS, standard keyboard commands across apps, free OS upgrades (before 7 and after a few iterations of X), 3.5" floppies, variable letter spacing and ligatures. I'm forgetting some. Going back to 1987 is a lot of stuff to remember.

Meuller brought his "checkers" skills to the table against a guy playing three-dimensional chess. Trump is five moves ahead of him. Mueller is the one going to prison, and he's taking a bunch of other people who brought a knife to a gunfight with him. This is going to be fun to watch.

Rocket Science 101: If you make a living harvesting trees, you have to make sure there are going to be trees to harvest. The best steward of a resource is the person who needs that resource. People who harvest fish, are very, very careful about not polluting the water. Oil companies who drill off shore take every precaution they can to avoid spilling oil, partly to avoid being restricted from drilling, partly because they're not drilling to watch their oil float away, and partly because nobody thinks trashing the planet is a good idea.

Truth. Seattle has been in the playoffs every year of some of these guys' whole careers, and two Super Bowls. There's a championship mindset in that locker room that makes them just a smidgen harder to beat when the heat is on.

The last couple of years of stuffing money in the defense has been deleterious to the offensive line. I don't remember which game this year or last that Russell Wilson didn't spend the game running for his life in the offensive backfield. We need a veteran or two and some young studs to grow into Jones and Hutch clones.

"Deck the freakin' halls." I saw what you did there. I agree. That game wasn't terribly fun to watch. Kind of a clusterfreak. The result was good though. And I agree. The only stat that matters at the end of the discussion, is W's (of course spending several minutes deciding whether to put an apostrophe in Ws indicates some kind of imbalance). Another fine game assessment, Mr. Thiel. Although the offense did enough, denying an NFL offense a single touchdown for a full game is an impressive feat, for a squad of the sick, lame, and replacements. The defense won this one.

I remember a few years ago when they made the number one scoring offense in the NFL look a lot worse than "normal." The LOB was pretty green, then – a lot like some of our current starters. Methinks a parallel can be drawn.

I haven't looked at his stats, yet, but young Mr. Griffin seems to have turned in a journeyman performance in the Eagles game. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable contest. A lovely time was had by all (except the visitors, that is).
