If it's a video on youtube etc with an embed code available then it's pretty clear than it's "creative commons" etc. but if you just see a photo that you like and want to comment on what is the best practice for doing that without opening yourself up to legal ramifications. I'm assuming here that it's just on someone's site and not sitting in creative commons on Flikr. Are your friends at Getty images going to come after me?

Re: Video SEO Through Syndication and Distribution

Interesting post!

Which sites did you list on?

Did you use the same keywords for every site?

Re: How Wine Library TV Is Catapulting Its Founder To Fame And Fortune. – With Gary Vaynerchuk

That was inspirational! If it is true, I presume this relates solely for affiliate links and not sites that capture email addresses to sell their own product (i.e. Christian Carter/ David D etc.)?

Re: How To Promote Your Business – With Neil Patel

A great interview!! I presume that mousetrapping and blending the ad into the content maximise short term revenue in a one-shot environment, rather than when you're trying to develop a community with repeat traffic.

You mentioned above that “ugly sites have incredible sales numbers”... how did you find that out?

What were the names of the other competitive intelligence websites Marc mentioned? Recession Marketing Monkey commented on spyfu (which is really interesting), but I believe Marc also mentioned a "pivotal" and a "trellion"?

Re: How An Ambitious 22-Year-Old Got His Startup Into The Wall Street Journal. – With Ramit Sethi

Great interview. I thought Ramit's video testemonials were fantastic. I'm glad Josh brought up the point about blogs being "squished" by certain browsers. This problem is HUGE. I was looking at all the sites on my laptop and also on my desktop and got very different results. Even John Chow's site dropped the entire left column on my laptop. Whilst somepeople might say (and they'd probably be right) that I should just adjust my browser width/resolution, if you're marketing outside the tech community you need to make it very easy for people. If this is just a matter of a bit of code I don't understand why it's still happening on the professional sites. Could Josh comment on whether "Affiliate Theme" fixes this issue?

Also, should people take different approaches with written blogs vs. video blogs? Or does the form of content not really make any difference?

One suggestion, could you include links to all the sites mentioned in the discussion below the video somewhere so when your audience is listening / watching they can click on the links and pull up the sites. I didn't have an issue when you spelt out the links but couldn't find "zac johnson" until I saw him on the Affiliate Theme site.

Great interview... Keep up the excellent work!

Re: Techniques Direct Marketers Use To Ensure Success Before They Even Launch A Product. -With Chance Barnett

A really great interview.... so much valuable information!!! I've since looked at the David Deangelo, Christian Carter and Growthink sites to see Chance's method's first hand. My questions are:

1) What other sites has Chance been involved with? There was a marked difference between the approach for Grow Think and for David Deangelo / Christian Carter (which were practically identical in structure, just using different language). How does Chance explain the differences... obviously based on testing the responses of 2 very different consumer segments... but I would appreciate any insite into which segment reponds best to which stimuli.

2) All of these sites used multiple urls to promote the same content. Is this purely down to testing which language is most effective for converting customers, or is it an ongoing effort which has been tested to target/convert different sub-groups most effectively... selling the same product, just with a different spin? I was very interested in seeing the youtube results for David Deangelo... is that purely a function of hits (and is that helped by embedding a youtube clip within marketing material).

3) Chance spoke about increasing developing trust with your customer in order to lessen purchase anxiety. The business model for both DavidD and ChristianC seems to involve a small initial purchase price c. $20 - $30 for a refundable e-book with a tie in to a recurring subscription and the possibility of purchasing more expensive expert material. I presume this aims to maximise customer lifetime value whilst minimising the perceived initial expense. Are these assertions correct? And what strategies would Chance recommend to sell higher cost products?

4) I'd be interested to understand why Chance doesn't advertise on his sites? Does that take consumers away from his product.

5) What different strategies would you employ when you're selling relationship advice (i.e. an ongoing discussion over multiple months / years) vs. shorter term / one-shot sales?

Thanks again to both Chance and Andrew for a really stimulating post!
