They are capable of independent thought, when players engage with them. But like I listed, not only has this format taken over almost all of my local tournaments but my local convention as well. This is based on my experience in Texas, which is why the headline is a question. Is this happening in your area? Do you us ITC format or a locally grown set of tournament rules?

And if they could just add to that, I do like some limitations a huge con events, I dont like restricted local tournaments. That's where the innovation needs to come from. Plus, a one day three round tournament is more luck than skill, you can't expect that format to generate the "best" because there just isn't enough time. If it is going to be a crapshoot anyway, why worry about it C is balanced against D.

Mine as the authors of the OP above? I think the only think I was being personal against was some organizers, but the ones I've actually talked to were very receptive to feedback. They just wanted to use something people knew, which is well meaning, but not as good as actually talking to them.

Regarding Invisibility and "scrubs", I think it is just an issue of experience and practice. They more you play against it, the less scary it is. But by banning and removing it from the meta, you increase the fear and decrease skill in countering it.

Yes, having multiple events would help reduce the sampling bias a little bit. "People that attended my tourney preferred my format" -- shocking. ;)
