I don't have this problem at all and I doubt that it's "widespread". I mostly use the car's satellite radio. It's on before I plug in the phone because it was the last thing I listened to before shutting off the car. If I play audio from the phone, switching back to car audio is easy. Just hit the car's menu button on the dash and choose Audio.

Although the command-line name of the tool is still "defrag," it's now called "Optimize Drives" instead of "defragment" nowadays for a reason. It knows the difference between an SSD and a mechanical hard disk and it does the appropriate process for each. SSD's definitely do need optimization, just not the same method as HDD's do. For SSD's, Windows sends a retrim command to the device and the device frees up its space from deleted files in its own way and reports back its results. You could do this manually using the command defrag /L at a command prompt. Windows 8.1 and now Windows 10 do not attempt to "defragment" a device that it detects as being an SSD. Notice it lists the device type, even. It knows the difference.
It is perfectly safe to have Windows "optimize" any modern SSD that supports the Trim command. But there's a lot of misinformation out there being propagated in places like this article and its commenters. Look it up. Seriously.

Correct. The tower and clock are named "Clock Tower" - so original. The large bell (only the actual BELL) that makes the chimes is officially named "Great Bell" but has the nickname "Big Ben."

I'm sick of the 24-hour a day "competitive" Presidential race - that isn't a race at all. With phony / lame controversy after another. This Presidential election was sort of over before it started. Obama will win easily because Romney's obviously so out of touch with anyone not in his country club. The SNL parrodies of him are dead-on.

Find some real news, like Craig says. It is out there. We don't care about the stupid election. Seriously.

If you are going to have a live studio audience, let them be a live studio audience. If you want silence, don't invite an audience at all. It's that simple. It seems Brian Williams was afraid that the simpletons in the audience might have applauded the "wrong things" if they were allowed to express themselves. And the audience at home yawned, not even recognizing the highs and lows of the debate. That was the least memorable debate I've ever watched.

Even with the bar set as low as it already is for British food, it's still almost always absolutely terrible unless you're eating something "authentically ethnic (foreign)."

On the other hand, everything I've eaten in France, Belgium and Italy has been absolutely fantastic, even when I didn't know what I was ordering due to language difficulties. I've just been pleasantly surprised that I would even like things that I later realized I was afraid to try before.

I wouldn't count on her acting on this. During her confirmation hearing, Russ Feingold posed this same exact question to her. It was one of the final questions of the hearing. She seemed shocked or embarrassed that she was being asked about it and said she'd look into it and refused to comment further. Feingold seemed to indicate that this was totally at her discretion and didn't require an act of congress or anything. I didn't get the impression that this was going to go anywhere though. I hope I'm wrong.

I watched the concert on HBO. One of the most amazing, patriotic events I've ever seen in my life. You can catch the re-runs at 7:00 PM Eastern on HBO-E and at 7 PM Pacific on HBO-W. Also I think like 11:30 tonight on both. HBO ran the live concert for free to all, even non-subscribers. The re-run may be the same. Check it out. Try tuning it in even if you don't subscribe. Not to be missed. It was just incredible.

From what I've heard today, his failure to pay tax was on income earned outside the country when he did some work for the International Monetary Fund. He did not know he needed to pay the tax. When he found out that he did, he paid it.

On the housekeeper - When he hired her, she had a legal work visa. She worked for him for some time. Her work visa expired a few months before she left and he never knew that it had expired. This really could happen to anyone.

It may be Bill Clinton behind all of the leaks. If he is willing to submit his finances for scrutiny, Hillary must be telling him what's going on in the discussions. Then he turns around and leaks it to his loose-lipped friends in order to keep the publicity up and create the "inevitability" of her getting the job in the media narrative. Then, of course, Hillary is covering her ass by saying that she's not sure she wants the job... in case it gets offered to someone else - like Richardson, who is on her "enemy list" since he betrayed her by endorsing Obama in the primaries.

The beauty of including the costs for the first year of health care reform in a stimulus package is that it would be considered "emergency" spending, not subject to the pay-go rules. But $300B is not enough for 2009 stimulus. Should be more like $900B and include many massive infrastructure construction projects. My wish is for coast-to-coast high speed rail tracks/tunnels/electric lines, etc.

If they do the stimulus on the cheap ($300B) it won't be enough to put enough people back to work and you'll wind up with nothing to show for the money once the recession is finally over. You'll just be paying for unemployment insurance, etc., extending the misery for much much longer than necessary. Then see the mound of debt you've built up and have nothing tangible to show for that debt.

I watched "the moment " on MSNBC and Keith said more. I remember it as him naming off California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii as putting Obama over the top. It was exciting television and I was surprised David Gregory handed off to Keith to make the big announcement.
