I would love to take my photography to a new level and take my blog over the top! I would take this awesome camera and start shooting video for my blog (the Great Lakes Green Pages) which is in dire need of new creative content. We have been trying to figure out how to best approach creating short 2-5 minute videos on sustainable concepts like how to reuse bottles and other recyclables as new things rather than throw them away. We want to show how easy it can be to recycle, how to use technology to reduce paper use, how to reduce energy consumption and to show how some things work. We hope to teach and inspire, and hopefully foster innovation. Who knows who can innovate in the solar panel field, if they know how solar panels actually work!

Re: Social Media Day Giveaway: Win a Sony Dash

I will be one of the dozen or so attending the meet up in CLEVELAND, OHIO! Every year I am trying to do one big thing and several smaller things to reduce my carbon footprint. Over the winter, I have been dressing in more layers, and have found that I wash less clothes, as only those t-shirts near my skin need regular washing, not the outer sweaters and such. So this summer, I have the perfect place to hang a clothes line and I think I can save a big chunk of electricity by line drying. I am going to give it a go and see how it works out.

Re: Mashable Readers Can Download Terminator Salvation For Free

I went to the site and had to download the software in order to download the movie, only to have them tell me AFTER installing the software that the coupon is out of uses....This kind of thing ticks me off and now I am on their email list which is likely to be sold and will flood my inbox with spam...

Re: Comment Contest: Win “Full Access” Tickets to Blog World Expo

The future of blogging, as I see it, is multi-faceted. First, I think we are going to see a rise in blogs as a means of communicating news and ideas (like Mashable.com). As print media slowly dies out and the use of paper and trees as a way of communication disappears, we are going to see more and more media outlets using the blogging platform as a way to reach their audiences. Much of what we see as blogs today will merge with video information as we see television merge with online media. The personal blog is going to be slowly replaced by VLOGs as more people replace face to face interaction with face to computer interaction. In the end, the personal blogs are going to go completely extinct as we know it and be replaced with live video micro blogs, shot from hand held devices and uploaded instantly. we are going to see video glasses, that allow link up to see what is being seen by the poster, and gadgets that allow online editing and mashing of video and computer generated content from your phone. We are going to see more and more video being incorporated into live microblogging software and blogs that are idea or ideal centric will become their own community based sites that allow cross the board uploading and imput.

Or we will all go back to using a telephone.

Re: Mashable Mind Map: What is the Future of Blogging?

The future of blogging, as I see it, is multi-faceted. Depends on How You Look at It

I think that the only reason that there are not more "inactive" users is the rise of all the apps that will create followers for you. Then you simply follow back automatically and without a post, you have thousands of follower and are following a huge group-all with only a few clicks. That doesn't mean much to me, and I am one of those crazy people who actually try to interact with at least SOME of my followers...Fine with me, I don't follow them anyway...

Re: No Recession Can Survive Main Street?

This is exactly what we are trying to do in our town.
