Wow...what an awesome letter....although I'm not sure about a "city manager". There are definately pitfalls to that.

How about someone taking care of maintaining the schools. Is that even in the budget ???

Seems to me....first things first. In all the other schools around the country that actually "maintain" their schools....the good teachers and the education follow.

I see the hotel permits have been approved !!! I wish I could be there for the end result someday. Gloucester needs this hotel. I'm still following. I love Gloucester and always will wish the best for her.

Yea FM....balsey publishing the c*7t's name, huh ?? LOL !! It takes two to tango though. Yea, It's been a rough year...for sure...both emotionally and financially. My heart IS broken. Yep....he's the loser for sure. She's even been in the paper for losing her license in 2010....prolly a DUII ??? She's just another one of those Gloucester leach girls, trying to snag someone to take care of her. Good luck with all that I say....hubby can barely take care of himself these days. Thanks for the words of wisdom TFM....Oh wise person that you always are....LOL !! I appreciate you sharing a tough time of your own. I'm strong...and eventually, I'll get through this. Kinda hard right now. Some days I can barely get off the couch, but luckily, I have my family and friends here, and they've been great support.Sybil...I so wish we had been able to have that lunch. Things just started unraveling late last February.....I knew something was wrong.Yea...I believe in Karma too. We'll see. People I care about have been really helpful through all this. I'll be ok oneday.Anyway, yes, I have been reading all the hotel and NOAA news. I still love Gloucester....and feel lucky I had the years I had to live and experience America's Oldest Fishing Village. I will forever cherish her memories....including all of you guys I've had the most fun and spirited (LOL!) great times with.I just haven't felt like blogging much..but now I do, since the cat's outta the bag. Mikey, I have to disagree. You used to go by "macsurf".

I have written LTE's in the past and "signed my name"....no worries.

If you can't take the heat in the comments, then don't write the LTE's. Everyone is up to scrutiny....even you.

Some of us regular commenter's do not want or need an idenity. We just want to say what we want to say, and it's not personal. Most of us try to be civil. Yea...sometimes you will run across someone "uncivil"....but for the most part....no one is out to get you. If you get ugly responses, then maybe you ought to analyze what you have said ??? No ??

TFM, Maybe the mayor just wanted a great dinner, out at the White House, or wherever she attended. I know I would attend a WH dinner if invited, no matter what my political affiliation is, if I could.

I view the mayor as "in the middle"...neither a conservative or liberal. She just does what she wants to do.

Same with my elementary school where I grew up Westport. It's almost 70 years old and still going strong. They have rehabed it many times through the years and it's still a wonderful, sound school.

That's the problem here. No one takes care of anything.
