Maybe, just maybe, these plastic lenses will be less expensive to manufacture and less expensive at retail. It should also be easier to manufacture aspheric lenses.

I think the X-T5 should have had the same card combination as the X-H2 and a deport buffer. The write speed, even with the fastest available SD cards, is not up to 40 MP (RAW) sensor output.

The Budapest Memoranda obliges U.S., U.K. and Russia to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine in return for Ukraine surrendering more than 5,000 nuclear weapons left there when the Soviet Union collapsed and Ukraine signing the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

It is not a treaty approved by the Senate, but is nevertheless the word of the United States. We have failed to timely honor our word.

If we would send M1s to Ukraine Germany would send Leopard IIs greatly increasing the chances of Ukraine being able to expel the Russian invaders.

I sincerely dislike subscriptions although I have been forced into some for critical apps. I understand why they want subscriptions. It makes their financial statements look better to investors. At least they have begun allowing annual payments.

If 1Password/Agile Bits doesn't soon provide some actual customer support I'll have to drop it and tell the world what a terrible experience it has been and I'm a customer from version 3 or 4.

Probably the major driving force behind the change next year is the EU mandate which Apple must meet to continue selling products in the EU. There's also the reality that USB-C connectors are fully compliant with USB 4 (Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.2, gen 2) which are necessary to take advantage of today's external M.2 SSDs that more and more people are using as external drives (and will have to on Apple Silicon machines.

Unfortunately, I can’t say the same. They’ve worn out on iPhones and iPads and had to be replaced.

That would be USB 4 which is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 & USB 3.2 Gen 2. The chips already exist. All apple need do is buy them.

Most people have only listened to what various groups say about Roe. If they would read the opinions, that’s right, plural, they would discover that there was no opinion of the court in which a majority concurred. There were seven separate opinions. What was agreed by a majority of the court was simply the result, not some foundational principle of law.

The original Colt 1873 Peacemaker/“Single Action Army”, and exact replicas, had the firing pin in the hammer. (A number of more modern revolvers did too such as the S&W M&P issued in the armed forces.) The handguns were carried hammer down on an empty chamber to avoid the possibility of a discharge caused by the hammer being struck. They were effectively “five shooters”. The particular firearm would have to be examined to determine at what point in the cocking of the hammer the cylinder advanced to the next chamber. These firearms had, at a minimum, a half cock notch where the hammer rested to allow the cylinder to rotate to clear fired brass and load new rounds or to simply clear the firearm of anything in the chambers.

Forensic examination of the firearm in question should answer many questions.

The very first mods of a 10/22 should be installing a Volquartsen extractor, having the bolt faced (to set headspace, Re contouring the back end of the bolt to assure reliable cycling of standard (subsonic) ammo and polishing the firing pin. The pin that the bolt hits at the end of its travel should be replaced with a polymer coated one which will result in smoother cycling.

If you like the other mods, have at it! There are a great many of them.

Pressure times the surface area of the case head equals bolt thrust. The larger area of a PPC case head must therefore be held to a lower pressure to equal a constant or fixed bolt thrust.

At the outset I’ll say that I don’t know just how difficult (and expensive) it is to provide at least some degree of “weather resistance”, but it does seem to me that it would be a desirable feature. At what price point should it become standard? I don’t know the answer to that either, but I’ll pose the question. There is, of course, a great difference between being able to survive being caught in a rain shower and surviving “a complete immersion” as some of the Canon shooters refer to them falling into water.
