And about the Bandura study (and there are others) --- there's more than I can suggest in this comment. One important detail: J. B. Watson, the "founder" of American behaviorism --- guess where he ended up, after a scandal (adultery) forced him out of his posh academic job (he had an affair with a GRAD ASSISTANT!!! back in the day, early 40s I guess, late 30s...) anyhow, he ended up working for an advertising firm. the rest is (television) history...
My take is that currently the military is awash with this stuff, and also observational learning, as that's where the grants are, maybe have been, for a lot of this "soft" research...sigh...

Art and science ARE not dialectically opposed. Look at Da Vinci (and others)...it is just the way fields of knowledge have evolved, or devolved or mis-evolved...

Do you know that in the U.S., just barely 1% of people are engaged in agriculture, growing food? And that their efforts are enough to sustain the other 99% of Americans!

The rest of us are engaged in other activities, not so tied to the land and feeding ourselves...and we have leisure time.

Think about the other huddled masses, yearning to be on boats headed to Miami or any other port of call to the U.S. where they think they will have, if not a better life, then certainly an easier one....
