I think it would be hard to construe depictions of President Bush as Curious George are racially biased. Caucasians have not historically been given derogatory nicknames involving the monkey family.

People have a right to be outraged just as much as the cartoonist had the right to draw and publish it. Offensive, tasteless and yes, even racist, statements often result from free speech and free press. If you don't have a problem with the cartoon neither should you have a problem with how people express their reactions to it.

Maybe some of his brother in law's concern about affordable health care will wear off on Mr. Walsh prompting him to do something about the significant increase in premiums retirees faced last year. Premiums went up by $300/month for some plans.

I am only stating my sadness that the California Supreme Court granted the right for gay couples to marry and now that right has been taken away. It is always my hope that in this day and age rights aren't something doled out like a treat for the taking back and forth.

I'm having trouble seeing your point since there was such a clear democratic victory across the board. It seems that the republican ticket did best in way right areas and less well in more culturally and politically moderate areas of the country.

I guess I'm still trying to make sense of your argument....is the shorthand of it that the republican party needs to lead by ramming an even righter leaning fist down the throats of those unwilling to vote for it? Because that doesn't seem like leadership, it seems like useless.

I'm suspicious of this new curbside voting operation. What voter in their right mind would trust their ballot to someone else? Every other curbside voting operation I've researched provides the individual voter with a way of submitting their ballot themselves at the curb. Something smells fishy about the operation down south.

I'm an Obama supporter and I came to that decision on my own. No one threatened me. I simply reviewed the man's Senate accomplishments online and read his policy proposals. I did the same thing with McCain. I didn't find anything in the Republican platform or McCain campaign that spoke to me. I also didn't find much in the way of solutions to problems that affect my friends and family. My decision was based on the kind of life I want for myself and for the people I love.

I take issue with your characterization of Obama supporters as brown beaten and mesmerized by the mainstream media. I don't think calling out Obama supporters for the same actions that some McCain supporters display makes an argument for your case. But, I'm also not really sure that you have a case at all. Seems more like an angry rant to me.

I've been happy to vote for Darren White when he ran for sherriff. I felt he did a decent job and seemed to not drag that office down with overt party politics. I did want to learn more about Darren White as a congressional candidate before I voted for him. This ad is all I need to know. I won't vote for the guy who's biggest supporters are parents willing to exploit the memory of their dead son for political purposes. I find that despicable.

It's not that Sarah Palin is under wraps. She does have many opportunities throughout the day to speak to reporters. She just doesn't take them. A lot of pundits seem to think that she's being treated unfairly by the McCain campaign. However, it's Sarah Palin muzzling Sarah Palin most of the time. She doesn't go out of her way to show herself to be any more informed, intelligent or experienced in matters of national government.

It's not the campaign--it's most certainly the candidate.
