I don't associate race with poverty. It's just a stereotype and not one commonly shared outside of the non-anglo community, so clearly the article was not written to be consumed by an educated african-american male, as he would be insulted that the author believes this is what should likely come to mind. I mean was this written for people back in the 50's or what?

Re: Washington, not exactly a 'House of Cards'?

So first the quote.. "So although "House of Cards" is a great show, viewers need to remember that politics is much more than that. We have become so cynical in this day and age that we can no longer see what is good about our democratic system."... It's possible that people would not take as cynical a view if the politicians of today where as good as those your spoke so highly of. To make my point, the closest good thing you had to say about a politician was back in 1987, so apparently, you have nothing good to say about modern politicians either.

Re: At Utah school, there really was no such thing as a free lunch

Frank, because the story has nothing to do with parents or the status of their accounts. It has everything to do with the proper handling of children. Doesn't matter the economic status, you don't take food away from hungry children first, and secondly you don't throw away food, when people are hungry. What's more, why are we making kids pay for lunch, with all the tax and lotto money going towards education. It's just upsetting that silly politics is affecting children.

Re: At Utah school, there really was no such thing as a free lunch

This is highly upsetting, what kind of adults take food away from hungry children? What's worse is they gave the food to the kids , then took it away. Purely from a mathematical perspective, there are too many habitable planets, around more stars then we can count, that actually have liquid water, for there to be zero instances of life beyond our planet. That said, just because we don't have proof of life, does not mean that it doesn't exist. Like-wise, some alien race is pondering the existence of life beyond their own planet, have no knowledge of our existence, and yet here we are, all living n stuff : )

Re: 'Battlefield 4' China Rising Bugs: 'BF4' Premium PC, PS4 And Xbox Players Report Server Joining Problems; EA DICE Promises Fixes

I use a PS3 and downloaded the the China Rising DLC, today, since then, the only thing I can do is mess around in the test range, everything I try to join a game results in the dreaded Your Session Has Disconnected or expired error message and I can't go further. Before guns were in fashion, it was everything else imaginable. The true logic is the following, the tool or device does nothing on it's own, a human does the action and uses a tool. Just so happens that guns are currently the preferred tool for now, in the future it'll be laser weapons or some other futuristic tool that someone will then say is the problem. It's always the human.

Re: Report: White House stopped phone tapping of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, other foreign leaders this summer

Raise your concerns, we still don't care, lol.

Re: Le Monde: U.S. spies on France

This isn't really news, people who work in government, intelligence work, or just who can do some basic research already know that all countries spy on each other, friend or foe. If they had the man's Driver License, then why are they saying that they are trying to locate the man, and contacting embassy's etc. Seems that they'd just call the man on the phone, and confirm he's still at the address listed on License. In addition, why would they be checking to see if funds are elicit, when the bank and payee are foreigners. The story seems questionable to me, and hardly news worthy. Call the bank, cancel the check, reissue a new check, how does stuff like this become a story on CNN. I remember when this news network had some real material.

Re: With military short on funds, two airmen get private flyover during burial

Can't afford to honor a fallen service member, but I bet they have plenty of money to buy bombs, or to attack a country.

Re: Victim's family releases graphic video of his death

Very well said Anita. As a matter of fact, I'll be surprised, if they don't later file charges against the officer in question. Seems to me like these type of bad officers get away with stuff like this in one police department, and get hired by another city or county repeating the cycle. Clearly the suspect posed no threat to the officer, so there is no reason to run him over with a vehicle. If the state's prosecutor's office doesn't charge the officer, then we need a solid explanation as to why.

Re: What to expect from Apple's iPhone event

This is hilarious, the most exciting feature is a way to send all of your fingerprint data to the NSA, and a new case color.
