Should be simple enough for anyone to understand that you have to have real contact, and you need to engage to strengthen those. So start paying attention and you may even like those people you engage :)

Mike - funny how my thought process began after I read this....."who other than Jeff Turner has made a great different in 2009" - then I rolled my eyes and thought, who am I kidding???

I know I sound like a broken record here but Jeff makes me think. Every conversation I have with him leads to something good for my business and I owe so much to him for being the one that makes me think outside the box, helps me reach in there for intuitive moves that end up turning into home runs. Even without connecting directly with him, anyone reading his posts at zeek.com, or on FB or tweets will get something from it.
Now to share the love on LinkedIn....will find someone other than Jeff :D

I just watched this for the first time and I like Tom better :) seriously.....this medium makes you want to hug people - love his approach about using tid bits for those that are already top producers and want to reduce cost or open up another vertical they've never touched.

Love to read the consumer's point of view - there's another major factor not mentioned here and that is marketing costs - print advertising, direct mailers, newspaper adds, even on-line syndication platform fees (it's not ALL free as most lead you to believe). A good agent will spend good money to expose their listings.

AMEN!!! I've made a few business connections with mayorships alone - figured out people I don't know frequent the same places I do. It's fun and it's useful and announcements during conventions.....doesn't get better than that

Hal - I've never told you, but your real life F2F personality is sooooo much more fun than your writer/professional one - I'm all for dropping the mask and being yourself, attracting like-minded people who will love you for you. The stiff suit is passe anyway. Can't wait to see your voice come out! (kindda like coming out of the closet teehee)

I love that you love picking on me - and I am so glad you did this (helps to put things into perspective) - now don't think I started blogging on Feb of 2006 - I just wrote those few lines not even knowing what a blog was (the "Blogger" choice should be enough of a hint) - I would say my real start was Sept of 2006 in Active Rain and those posts are beyond embarrassing (probably enough cue for you to go look) :)
