Even though I'm in the UK, the situation isn't too different and what goes down on your side of the pond will affect me. I like to think I'm safe, and I do actually have some very fortunate circumstances, but, given that normal people's (not just bankers) jobs could start to go, it could be time to take stock and consider how long I could last without employment.

Time to prepare for the worst.

Re: RussellBeattie.com - CSS3 and the death of Handheld Stylesheets

Hi Russell, thanks ever so much for the link. I am interested in, but holding back on using media queries as they are only supported in the two mobile browsers you mention, Opera 7+ and Safari 3. The problem is not that other browsers don't support them, but that Internet Explorer doesn't understand them entirely properly and may apply styles in media queries that shouldn't be applied. If you apply a certain amount of caution things should be ok, and developing solely for mobile platforms should be safe as the two most advanced and popular browsers are the ones that correctly support the standard.

Having said that, I think I'll grab a copy of Opera or Safari and see what I can do with some creative media queries! I must look into this plugin you're talking about too, it sounds very interesting!
