I know I fall victim to this too. So that's why I like sitting down and putting dates on my calendar that are 'set-in-stone' appointments. 2) The unplugging. I run a private group of high-end entrepreneurs and that's one of the hardest things for everyone to do. It's a tough gig to disconnect but the thoughts, experiences and connections are so much deeper. I go one-step further on many trips and actually 'black hole' my email so I won't be tempted to check it or come back to a huge pile of it.

-Yanik

Re: Can An Online Marketer Remain Faithful To His Authentic Self? – with Yanik Silver

Justin thanks for listening. It's not always the case that demand increases as price decreases. I've seen results where a premium brand like Jack Daniels loses sales when the price slips below a certain point. What's more, by lowering your price you have to have a significant uptick in sales to make up for it. If you want a good resource for this check Larry Steinmetz book on How at Margins Higher Than your Competition. In there he makes the argument that a 10% (!!) price drop means you would need to double your sales to make up the margin.

Re: Can An Online Marketer Remain Faithful To His Authentic Self? – with Yanik Silver

Thanks Paul! Yeah I think you need to bring your own personality to bear and use that as an advantage. It works if you don't 'copy' another person but have your own unique perspective for your customers.

Re: Can An Online Marketer Remain Faithful To His Authentic Self? – with Yanik Silver

Azzam - come this next year. Underground8 - march 1-3, 2012. It's worth the trip over we have a lot of people hop over the pond for it.

Re: Why I Love Festivals | Fest300 - World's Best Festivals

Chip, I love when you presenting to our Maverick group about the difference between a calling and a career. And how it changed for you over your course of being CEO. I'm excited to see you pursuing this next calling and see where the adventure takes you. I remember going to the Running of the Bulls with my brother 8 years ago. (My wife was 7 mos pregnant and she hasn't quite let me live that one down yet.) But sharing that moment was pretty darn cool! It's something I certainly think about and now with 300 more festivals to choose from I get to start filling up my calendar. Good job!
