Ewan, when you talk about offering it completely free - what you really mean is adding functionality to the offering ie data, or email or ... whatever they want. In that situation more people would be willing to receive the ads and engage with Blyk.

If you can only offer free (and even a limited version of free), then you are only going to attract users like Ricky who see it as a nice add-on to their existing package.

Re: Choosing a trophy for the MIR Awards 2008

Just so you know James, I don't want to pimp you out ...

Re: Berocca’s Blogger Relief Pack has arrived

That's a very good idea and a very clever way for a brand to reach out to bloggers. You can't determine the future if you don't take into account all the different elements.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are some great analysts (I don't know anyone that calls themself a 'futurologist'). But the ones that are good are those that consider not just can we introduce the technology, but whether we will and what the implications are.

Re: Google Olympics overload straight to your mobile

You know I love you dearly Ben, but think of the great publicity for Mobile
Industry Review.

"Blogger Dies Due to Oppressive Chinese Regime" - this could be your Capt
Oates moment!

Re: Google Olympics overload straight to your mobile

In that case, maybe you should take it Ben ...

Re: Mobile Industry Review Show – Episode 16 from the AQA party

Love the Sony Ericsson news!

Re: Self imposed living with the iPhone 3G

By the way James, when is your parachute jump while simultaneously wrestling with sharks?

Re: My Carphone Warehouse experience: Shockingly good.

Ewan, sounds like we've got at least two sales people in the industry worth commending - your Carphone Warehouse guy and this guy from Vodafone - http://www.smstextnews.com/...

I'm not saying there aren't any more, but the default experience seems to be bad. Operators want us all to feel that having a mobile is 'vital', yet they think it's okay for us to be without one for 5 days or more while they are repairing our handset.

I suppose one of the problems is that people might accidentally 'borrow' the loan device on a permanent basis. Surely the repaired device could go back to the store and then you swap the loan device for your original.

Re: The President of the Maldives to the rescue!

Ewan, a man of your standing, I'm surprised you don't have a hotline to all global Presidents!

Re: iPhone hand-me-downs

Hi AJ, thanks for that.
