Let me preface this by saying that "I AM BLACK". I live off of Roberts Rd in one of the many RESIDENTIAL subdivisions. I do not want the increased amount of traffic that this mega church is going to bring to our community. Although "race" may be a factor for some people, it is not a factor for all of us. Why would this church want all of their congregation driving so far anyway?
There was a comment on the FCN website about the church paying to widen the road to 4 lanes, that is PART OF THE PROBLEM... we do not WANT a 4 lane road to replace our 2 lane road in our RURAL community.

Just complete ignorance... why dont these people know that you can drop babies off at a fire station.. no questions asked! Instead, they resort to placing a defenseless baby out in the wilderness HOPING someone finds it before it passes away. I just dont get it!!!

I wish we could just find a cure for cancer! I hope this baby lives a wonderful life and realizes how much his mother loved him. May Trinidad rest in peace knowing that she got to meet her beautiful baby boy.

black, white, green, purple.. it doesnt matter to me. If a POLICE OFFICER tells you to stop coming towards him and show your hands, you better do it. Police officers have the RIGHT to defend their lives, just like you do. If someone was coming towards me with their hands in their shirt and I was aware they had a knife... I would shoot them too (regardless of color).

I hope this little girl recovers completely. This is just awful, but I agree that it is NOT the driver's fault. From what it sounds like, the woman was already backing out, so she probably DID look. Kids are quick!!! My heart goes out to the family of the child AND the driver.

Have any of these people who are "judging" these poor kids ever read the book, "The Shack"?
If you have, you need to go back and reread chapter 11. If you have not read the book, go out and buy it, or borrow it from someone, even if only to read this ONE chapter!
A DIRECT quote from this book reads as follows: "Judging requires that you think yourself superior over the one you judge."
I am NOT condoning the actions of these teenagers, but you/we should not be condemning them either.
To all of the kids, their families and friends involved with this tragedy.... I hope that you can find the strength to move forward. My prayers go out to the families of those that have passed away and to those that are fighting for their lives. To the families and friends of those that are "ok", be there to support them, this is going to be a very difficult thing for them to bear for the rest of their lives

If you read my post.. I said I do not CONDONE what they did. It was completely illegal and irresponsible, but why does anyone have the right to "judge" them. I have seen comments on this board about the parents and their parenting skills, or lack there of, as well as comments demeaning these poor kids. Honestly... I come from a very "comfortable" background, graduated from college with a BA in Business Administration and hold a pretty respectable job. I have never been arrested, BUT when I was 15 years old, I used to sneak out and take my parents vehicles without their knowledge. Looking back on it now... it was undoubtedly the STUPIDEST thing I have ever done and thank God I never hurt myself, or anyone else for that matter. I don't think we can expect these kids and parents to think and react "rationally" right now based on the fact that this just happened less than a week ago. Once the dust settles and they do have to deal with the facts that indeed, there were laws that were broken, you just MIGHT be surprised at how this is handled.
