My group is on week 36, so about 70 hours in, and we have 3 people at level 6-9 on at least their second character (one guy is on his fourth). Makes me wonder which one of us is playing wrong.

Re: “N****r” and other words I learned while playing Overwatch

First time I heard that theory was an old George Carlin bit about his childhood in 1930/40s New York. The etymology of slurs and slang is really interesting, but arguing "that's not what it means, it really means this" in response to someone complaining is a supreme case of "ok you're not wrong, you're just an asshole".

Re: On Playmats: A Netrunner Story

This is the perfect companion piece to the very touching moment in the Christian Peterson interview where Leigh tries to talk Quinns up to CP about his placement and Quinns tries to quickly change the subject.

Re: Panels & Pizza Episode 41 – Zander Cannon

Fixed!

Re: Hang with SU&SD at Gen Con ’15!

One of my enduring memories of last year was playing Two Rooms and watching the off duty cop doing security try to figure out why all these people were talking about bombers and snipers.

Re: Hang with SU&SD at Gen Con ’15!

The feud deepens...

Re: Shut Up & Sit Down | Review: Specter Ops

Is it weird I want to send Paul my copy? It's not "good" on the "meaningful decisions" part (although there is more strategy than Life), they take all the annoying-to-gamers parts of Life and jump them over a gorge. Oh you landed on a Moonshine space? Roll on the Moonshine chart! You need a place to live, and you have to buy the first house on the House deck (which serves no in game purpose other than money sink)!

Any game that has twice as many debt tokens as cash tokens and uses teeth as VP is fine by me.

Re: Games News! 19/05/14

Copper Country is outstanding. It looks like a stodgy economic Euro with a boring theme, but it's got great replayability, some fine screwjob mechanics and of course, the afforementioned Pasty card.

Re: Eurogamer review: Talisman Digital Edition

My friends and I have been calling it Nerd Monopoly for a while. In the later days of 2nd Edition, they started integrating other GW properties into Talisman (Warrior Of Chaos early, and the Timescape expansion brought in Chainsaw Warrior along with a mix of other 40K stuff), so we figured it was open season to bring other games in. It was HeroScape before HeroScape. Snits, Awful LIttle Green Things, Twonky from RoboRally and one or two of the Arkham Horror characters showed up to join the quest for the Crown.

Re: The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 294 – Bone Of Contention

Still a lot of work for not much meat.

Re: Shut Up & Sit Down | Review: Arctic Scavengers

I really wanted to get into Netrunner mostly because I really dig the Android universe, but I just don't have the time to play the deckbuilding/deckbuying metagame (I only get maybe a few hours of gaming a month. In general we start recording right after we order so people get a sense as to wait times, plus it gives us a little ramp up time. We generally get our food at right around the 10-15 minute mark, so it sounds like you just missed it!

We'll be starting our food truck show back up shortly, and those tend to be right in the time range you are looking for. They are posted to this show, so keep an eye out. Also, give a full episode a shot, I think we can change your mind about longer shows. Either way, thanks for listening!

Re: The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 221 – Burgertime

You can always get the link from the download.
